I am utterly appalled by the treatment of elephants at this so-called "elephant camp" in Phuket. My recent visit left me deeply disturbed and saddened by the blatant disregard for the well-being of these majestic animals.

First and foremost, the staff exhibited appalling behavior, displaying rudeness that was downright shocking. They seemed more interested in profiting from the exploitation of these gentle giants than in their welfare. Instead of educating visitors about the importance of conservation and ethical treatment of animals, they actively encouraged activities that contribute to the suffering of these elephants.

It was heartbreaking to witness the elephants chained up in such deplorable conditions. They were confined to small areas, unable to move freely or exhibit natural behaviors. The sight of them shackled, with visible signs of distress and discomfort, was nothing short of heartbreaking.

Furthermore, the exploitation of these animals for entertainment purposes is inexcusable. Tourists were encouraged to ride the elephants and watch them perform tricks, all for the sake of a few fleeting moments of amusement. It sickens me to think that people would willingly participate in such cruelty, all for the sake of a photo op or a momentary thrill.

It's high time that we, as a society, take a stand against animal cruelty in all its forms. Places like this elephant camp should be held accountable for their actions and shut down immediately. I urge everyone to boycott this establishment and any others like it, and instead support ethical sanctuaries where elephants are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.

In conclusion, my experience at this elephant camp was nothing short of a nightmare. The mistreatment of these magnificent creatures is a stain on humanity, and it's time we put an end to it once and for all. Do not support this establishment, and spread awareness about the plight of captive elephants in Thailand....

Prayai Changthai Elephant Camp, located in Chalong, Phuket, Thailand, offers an exceptional opportunity to engage with elephants in a responsible and enriching environment. Visitors can observe elephants of various ages, from playful calves to majestic adults, each showcasing unique behaviors and personalities.

One of the most captivating experiences at the camp is feeding the elephants. For a modest fee, guests receive a bundle of bananas to offer these gentle giants. Interacting with the baby elephants during feeding is particularly delightful, as they are known for their playful and friendly nature, often eagerly reaching out for treats and engaging with visitors. This activity not only provides enjoyment but also fosters a deeper appreciation for these magnificent creatures.

Beyond feeding, the camp offers a variety of activities to enhance the visitor experience. Elephant rides provide a unique vantage point to explore the lush surroundings, allowing guests to traverse scenic trails atop these majestic animals. For those seeking adventure, the camp features ATV rides through untamed rainforests and zipline courses with platforms extending up to 300 meters, offering thrilling perspectives of the landscape.

The camp’s proximity to other notable attractions adds to its appeal. Situated near the renowned Big Buddha, visitors can combine their elephant experience with a visit to this iconic landmark, enriching their cultural exploration of Phuket.

I want to share my deep frustration about this place in Thailand that today clearly struck me as an ethical disgrace. While traveling to Big Buddha, I passed by a facility where elephants are not treated with the respect and care they deserve. It was heartbreaking to see how these majestic animals are confined in small enclosures, chained up and barely allowed to move freely.

The elephants hardly receive proper nutrition, and their lives are reduced to merely entertaining visitors—a situation that clearly demonstrates a complete disregard for animal welfare. I couldn’t help but notice a small baby elephant, which could barely move due to the chains imposed on it. It was a sad reminder of just how important it is to treat all living beings with the respect they deserve.

It is unacceptable that a facility exploiting the lives and suffering of elephants can still exist in our modern world, where animal welfare should be a fundamental value. If you support such places, it indicates that you are complicit in maintaining a practice that is both inhumane and ethically reprehensible. To me, this place deserves no stars and should be shut down as soon as possible.

I urge everyone to think twice before visiting such establishments, and to support initiatives that truly improve animal welfare. It’s time we demand change and ensure that all animals are treated with the respect and care...

The way they’ve kept the elephants here is very cruel. It’s terrible seeing these beautiful majestic animals being trapped and bound by ropes and chains all so that they can make money from tourists. I would have loved to skip this place but unfortunately was forced to see it due to our city tour taking us here. Seeing the sad 2 year old baby elephant trying to play but being forced inside a small den with ropes tied around its leg made me so sad and broke my heart. Right behind it were elephants that were forced to take people on elephant rides and they chained to a post until it was their turn to go. There are far better ethical elephant sanctuaries in Phuket, please do not spend your money here.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! We went to this place to see elephants but when we arrived their feet were chained together in a tiny enclosure whilst they were visibly distressed trying to move. With lots of research suggesting that elephants are very advanced creatures, this is especially cruel and disgusting behaviour. I felt sick in a way I haven’t before seeing their distress. The only good thing that came out of it was that we all felt it was horrible so decided to donate to Elephant Aid International - a charity which works to release the elephants being held in awful conditions like this in Asia. DO NOT GO HERE AND DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR EVIL BUSINESS
