Authentic Thai Food — Restaurant in Chalong

found this small hut “restaurant” on google reviews while on the way to Big Buddha, had lunch there and it was one of our best experience we had in Phuket. The owner , an polite, well spoken elderly lady who runs the place all alone, not sure if she does this out of love for cooking or to earn a living, but what I am sure is that she deserves a lot more. Everything we ordered tasted delicious, flavorful and soul soothing food. It was like our mums cooking, whatever mum cooks will taste wonderful right ? We, tourist pay big money to all the fancy restaurants and attractions and enrich the business entities behind it and here we have a super nice senior lady doing honest work in her humble hut food stall under rubber trees by the road side. I would say tourist should come here to visit her place first then Big Buddha as the second choice. Protect her...

We stopped at this place for lunch trusting the positive google reviews, and we are beyond satisfied. The food was exceptional, freshly cooked, and very tasty. What I have more is the kindness of the elderly lays who is the owner/cook/hostess. She spoke good English, which made it even more convenient. We asked her to make the food the way she would cook for a local guy (extra spicy) and it was just amazing. Amazing Thai food at an affordable price! We got tom kha chicken, Panang curry with chicken, and stir fried cabbage (and rice). Everything was delicious! The tom kha was my favorite.. soo flavorful and chicken was very tender. Highly recommend the tom kha. The lady running the restaurant is so friendly and sweet. We ate here at 3pm before hiking up to Big Buddha (~45 min). We were the last customers of the day, as she was closing up the shop since many ingredients were gone for the day.
