This is a great beach as beaches go: classic, soft, white sand that stretches in a long arc against the gently lapping, bathtub-warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Unlike a lot of well-frequented beaches, it’s delightfully free of trash and the water seems relatively clean. It’s quieter (and cheaper) up at the less crowded northern end. As you head south, the number of beachfront restaurants and bars increases. But it never seems to get over-crowded despite the entire beach being open to the public. There’s no renting of chairs, no jet skis or parasailing and, perhaps best of all, no touts selling their wares (until sunset at least). There are, however, fire-juggling dinner shows. It’s not a beach for surfers, alas, as there’s seldom a ripple to disturb the calm. But it’s good for kids, paddle-boarders and sea kayakers. Being such a broad and shallow beach means that at low tide you may have to walk a ways to submerge, whereas at high tide there's almost no beach at all. If you’re an ageist, body shaming elitist who judges beaches by the people on them and only tolerates sunbathing next to lithe young adults, the diversity of humans on this beach will undoubtedly disappoint you. Head south for more...
Read moreThis could be a nice beach. The sand is quite nice, however it was quite busy (even at the end of April). The Northern end of the beach is quite relaxing and more secluded and that is where we spent most of our time. I, however, will only give this beach three stars because a lot of garbage is washed up on shore with the high tide. I totally put a damper on things and it didn't really feel nice walking or wading amongst the garbage. The government dispatches garbage clean up crews every day to pick up the trash, but it still dampens the feeling of a nice vacation.
We are now at the Klong Prao beach a bit south of White Sand beach and find it much cleaner and secluded here. Check out this beach if you want a bit more privacy and less garbage on...
Read moreThis beach offers a truly beautiful experience, perfectly combining nature and relaxation. The beach has two sections: one is slightly livelier, with charming, handmade wooden cafés and restaurants offering fresh fruit, coconuts, and other treats at affordable prices. The other section is even quieter, more relaxed, and almost empty – perfect for unwinding completely.
The water is crystal clear, the sand is soft and white, and the palm trees create a stunning tropical atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for peace and quiet, want to enjoy nature, or simply sip on an ice-cold coconut by the beach, this is the place to be.
Overall: A dreamy beach for nature lovers and anyone looking to relax – highly...
