Taste of India Koh Chang — Restaurant in Trat Province

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. I have been traveling for more than 5 years now and have eaten in more than 10 countries and hundreds of restaurants, but have never tasted such bad food. I have eaten Mumbai road side food and in every aspect this is the worst place.

We ordered multiple things, Pani puri, panner masala, naan, peshawari naan, chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka, chicken biryani, salted lassi, but every single item was the worst.

The service was extremely slow. By the owners own admission, there was only one chef in the kitchen. It took 20+ minutes for the food to arrive. Food had colors added to it which was very obvious. Infact, we probably had an upset stomach after eating here. They do display some awards from 2023, but we assume it's either paid for or the chef has changed.

Salted lassi and curd - the owner was a Punjabi and I thought she cannot go wrong on this one, but to my surprise, the lassi was the worst I have ever had in my life. The curd was old and smelly

All other food was too burnt, had a lot of artificial colours added and obviously had no taste of India

We racked up a bill for 1200 baht, and for nothing

Edit; because of the response of the owner which I appreciate I changed the rating from 1 to 3 stars. Again I’m pretty certain it was that dish but impossible to tell for sure at this point.

My wife, son and I got food poisoning same night after eating there for dinner. My wife had it pretty bad and vomited three times in the middle of the night while I fared better since I only ate some of her dish (which we believe caused the poisoning). Impossible for me to imagine that it could be anything else considering how we didn’t eat anything that is not prepackaged all day and that’s the only dish we all three shared. The rest of my vacation is now at risk as I literally barely had any energy to get out of bed this morning. I’m really sorry to have to do this because the people working there are super nice but I feel like it’s my responsibility to share what happened and hopefully the kitchen can take better precautions. Firstly let me start by saying the reviews is in 2 parts Food then restaurant Ok the food was difficult to fault - Hot and tasty and very well presented - see photos I will say I prefer my Naan bread a bit thicker and more bread like but the offering we had was pretty good to be fair.
