Som Tam Shop — Restaurant in Trat Province

We found this gem two days before we had to leave Ko Chang and came back every day - it's a new place owned by a friendly Thai couple and directly located by the beach - perfect sunset views. It cannot be reached from the street - you have to walk north past Independent Bo's and Rock Sand Resort - the Som Tam Shop is located between the Maylamean Bungalows and White Sand Resort in a quieter part of White Sands Beach.

You can easily spend a day there (there's plenty of shade due to a few trees) and have dinner and drinks (alcoholic as well as non-alcoholic) while watching the sunset.

It is a wooden hut with a few plastic chairs in front of it, but we had hands down the best homemade spring rolls ever for two days in a row. Their papaya salad also deserves praise - it's really spicy (ok, we asked for it) but packed with flavors.

Prices are reasonable given its premium location directly at the beach.

Our fav place in koh chang no doubt! The owner couple is so lovely and funny. We stayed 6 nights in koh chang and went there 3 times. Either for a beach day or to enjoy a sunset at the best site at white sand beach.

The food is the best thai food we experienced in koh chang and budget friendly. You can also order a bunch of fruit shakes, alcoholic drinks etc.

A little bit hidden and only accessible through an entry near the s curve in direction to the ferry port. Be careful when driving down and up with the scooter as it is really steep. But totally worth it and highly...

The best on the beach on the north side. One of the best of all. We ate here 10+ times in last 4weeks and enjoyed it every time. Nice to get charcoal grilled chicken and pork on the side of traditional thai dishesh. Prices are ok compared to White Sand Beach area. Our 2 year old always had something to eat. The charming funny couple who runs the place are the best! Will be here again next time when we are here....
