Sangtawan Resort — Hotel in Ko Chang

Don't stay here if you want to relax and have good time. It's an absolute waste of money, time and enjoyment. It’s nice to see that some people could enjoy their stay here, but I can’t imagine how. ||||The air conditioner was broken (we weren't told about that until we paid in full, just gave us an extra sheet, we still got sick from the cold), stains on the sheets and pillows and a condom wrapper under the bed. The club next door blasting room shaking bass music until four a.m. seems like the most minor complaint on this list...or maybe the non-functional Wi-Fi? ||||We made these complaints to the staff, but she just yelled at us without an apology. They only offered to move us to a different room across the street for the second night. We lost all faith in having a decent stay there after such a poor show on the first night. We were booking for two days, but we cancelled for one day and moved to another hotel. They said they couldn't refund us until they contacted with the booking site (after paying up front in cash). We were very doubtful that was the case and it seemed obvious that we wouldn't be getting any money back from this fraudulent business. It was a nightmare to...

Basic simple bungalows are fine by us as long as they are well maintained - even old places could be decent and nice if well maintained. Unfortunately this was not the case for Sangtawan which is old and neglected. ||We paid USD 50 (note this is low season in Thailand) We could probably get a better motel in the US for the amount of money. Breakfast not included in this price. Some staff were unnecessarily rude and we just didn't want any more interaction of any kind with them and stayed away from the restaurant, etc. and not get a massage or anything like that from this place. We didn't like feeling this way at all.||For these reasons we would reccommend trying other options on the strip, White Sand Beach is the busiest beach on Koh Chang. There are lots of other better options. Next time we would probably try newer places just across the street, only about 100 m from the beach and much cheaper. We stayed at Sangtawan for 9 days and we highly recommend this resort. This is our second time we booked Sangtawan resort and we will certainly come again. The beach front bungalows are freshly refurbished and the location is in the best area of white sand beach. Bars, Restaurants, live music, shopping (7 Eleven), everything in short walking distance. Beautiful beach with fantastic old trees giving plenty of shadow for relaxing in the beachchairs. Superfriendly and helpful staff. Fantastic Thaifood in Restaurant. The whole resort is great and easy. Clean rooms , every day cleaning. Scooters for rent at reception for reasonable price.
