Wonderful location, the southernmost, and therefore most remote location on Koh Lanta Yai, never crowded and very little construction (so far) surrounding it. Soft pale sand, very gently sloping, some rocks in the water, nevertheless plenty of space for swimming and suchlike. Two or three pretty good places to eat and drink close by. But do not leave food or drink unattended on the beach as almost certainly it will be taken by monkeys. At some times of year you may be stung by sea lice, but this is nowhere near as traumatic as it sounds as it's just a momentary inconvenience. Unfortunately there is rubbish at certain times of the year, but this is more to do with the tides than localised carelessness which is indicative of the global plastic (mainly) problem. Read moreExcellent choice if you're looking to get away from the crowds. Absolutely stunning beach, just huge - with amazing soft sand. Unfortunately as with many beaches these days it falls victim to the amount of pollution we have the world over and does get a lot of washed up debris plastic. You will need your own transport - we hired a 250cc which managed fine but you might struggle on a small scooter. Couple of places down here to eat and stay. We stayed at the Bamboo Bay Resort which sounds a lot posher than it is! very happy with everything there, food was great, the rooms were good compared to Thai standards. Read moreThis was my absolute favorite beach in ko lanta. It's mostly sandy (unlike many of the beaches here which are rocky) and its PERFECT for swimming. Its very picturesque and if you wander over onto the rocks like I did, you can see many many crabs, sea cucumbers and other marine life!! There are a couple of restaurants at one end of the bay. One thing to note, shaded places are scarce, so bring your own umbrellas if like me you can't sit out in the sun...
