My 4 weeks stay in Cashewnut Tree Bungalows
I recently stayed for four weeks at the family house in Cashewnut Tree Bungalows and had a very relaxing time. The owners are incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything I needed. They offer a wide range of services, including scooter rentals, boat trips, elephant rides in the rainforest, various minivan or ferry connections to other cities or airports, diving trips, and numerous local attractions with plenty of recommendations.
The resort also provides laundry services at a very reasonable price. The resort area itself is very peaceful, which helped me relax completely. It is centrally located in the southern part of Koh Lanta, near many restaurants, souvenir shops, 7-Eleven store, bars, and beautiful beaches. You can easily visit each of the beaches by scooter, which is very convenient.
The location is relatively close to the national park and a waterfall, both of which are worth visiting. During my stay, I explored the entire island and found that the southern part is much more peaceful than the northern part.
The resort provides internet access, but in the family house where I stayed, the connection was the weakest among all the bungalows. The speed was around 7 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Sometimes, I had to use my mobile internet for work. However, for regular internet use, the provided connection should be sufficient, with speeds up to 310 Mbps claimed by the owners in the other bungalows.
In summary, Cashewnut Resort is very well organized, and the owners are very helpful. During my stay, I had an issue with my scooter, and the owners immediately assisted me by facilitating communication with the local Thai people, which was a great help. I could always count on their support. If I return to Koh Lanta, I will definitely visit Cashewnut Tree...
Read moreThrough Booking.com, we got a fan bungalow for 890bath, way too expensive for what it is! I would not book through booking.com as when you come in person, you can negotiate the room a lot cheaper (700baths) There is other places in Kantiang bay where you have AC, hot shower and views for cheaper!||Pros:|- Great location in Kantiang bay, closed to the sea, nice restaurants and bars|- Nice setting, Bungalows look nice from the outside||Cons:|- bungalows are really dark, so its not pleasant to stay in. Also they get really hot and stuffy as you cant open the windows in case mosquitos come in and there is no security on windows to leave windows open at night or during the day|- There is 2 chairs outside the bungalow to chill but there is so many mosquitos and other insects that its not enjoyable!|- Bed was really small, so my partner's feet were outside|- The wife of the owner spoke to me only 3 times in 5 days staying and it was always to ask me to pay for the room, when we had explained why we will pay at the end. (There was no risk of us not paying as they had all our details trough booking.com plus we had friends they knew...
Read moreWe had the most amazing stay at Cashewnut Tree Bungalows. If you’re thinking of booking this place, just do it!! You will honestly not regret it.
Sara and Matteo are truly incredible people that made us feel so welcome from the very beginning. They were so helpful and attentive throughout our whole stay and gave us some great tips and ideas for the rest of our travels.
The bungalows themselves are so comfortable, equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need. The shower is great and the wifi is fast. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the lovely garden watching the monkeys. Also, the location is so perfect, in walking distance from some great bars and restaurants, but nestled away in a quiet little area. It was so peaceful at night allowing for a great nights sleep every single night. Sara and Matteo also helped us to hire a scooter, and helped with our transfers which we really appreciated.
Thank you so much, the accommodation itself is already brilliant but meeting you guys really made our stay that little bit more special....
