Drunken Sailors — Restaurant in Ko Lanta Yai

Dirty and unhygienic. I saw the waiter walk out of the bathroom without washing his hands and when I ordered a drink they handed me a drink with a dirty used straw that had bite marks and mold on the inside. They seem to reuse all of their straws which is unhygienic in itself but they apparently don’t clean the straws either. This is a horribly low standard to have, especially because I was having a cold sore flare up at the time and this uncleanliness could allow it to pass to someone else. I also believe that I got food poisoning/diarrhea from their burger as the meat in this area has before and I hadn’t eaten meat 24 hours otherwise before I got sick.

Edit after restaurants response: You take no accountability whatsoever. The mango thing is a complete lie and just another way for the restaurant to not take accountability for their uncleanliness. Also even if it was true how would I get food poisoning from a FRESH mango? And thank you for not addressing your employee not washing their hands after the restroom and for acknowledging that you do reuse straws which is unhygienic. Also I did not even put my mouth on the straw so once again not taking...

Very good food but not mind-blowing. And a bit pricey for what it is. It's a crowd pleaser. You could take a group here with different tastes/wants, and I think everyone would be able to find something they liked.

The service was great. The staff speaks good English and is very attentive/ helpful.

The space itself is quite cozy with good music and a mix of table seating as well as hammocks/beanbags

Minor complaint, but the spice level was pretty disappointing. I went with "Thai Spicy," the highest level, and it really did not have much of a kick. They give you the classic selection of condiments at the table, so I was able to get it to the right level after a few bites. Still, I've been to other places on the island where the "medium" option would surpass this by an order of magnitude.

If you're looking for somewhere easy and reliable in the area, you will not be disappointed. They clearly know what they're doing, and the food is genuinely very tasty. Just maybe not the kind of thing you'll rave...

This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and while my personal experience wasn't the absolute best I've had, there were definitely some highlights. It's conveniently located on the town's main street, and the interior is nicely decorated, although it did have a slightly more European /commercial feel than I was expecting.

The staff were friendly, although they seemed quite busy, and there was a small mix-up with our drinks (we ordered oat milk but received whole milk). However, the açai bowl was delicious! A helpful tip: make sure to refer to the black menu, not the recycled paper one on maps, its outdated and its prices too.
