Khao Tangkuan is one of the important tourist attractions in Songkhla Province. Khao Tangkuan is a hill approximately 2,000 feet above sea level. From the top of Tangkuan Hill, views of the surrounding city of Songkhla can be seen. On the top of Tang Kuan Hill is the Chedi Phra That of Songkhla. which was built during the Nakhon Si Thammarat Kingdom It is an art form of the Dvaravati period. The area of Khao Tang Khao, according to history, was originally the city of Tang U. The view at the top of Tangkuan Hill 🌄 is very scenic, especially the sea view.

At the top of Tangkuan Hill, you can see the whole Songhkla City 🌆 & South China Sea. 🏖️

In order to go up to the top of Tangkuan Hill 🌄, just buy the ticket at the counter in front of the entrance.

The queue line depends on the time of the day, sometime it is short, sometime it's long.

The crowd is not that huge to begin with, so you won't feel breathless.

The staff will show you the way to an Inclined Elevator 🛗 (use the inclined elevator to go up to the top of the hill).

When you reach the top of the hill, there are several spots 🏞️ to take the breathtaking scenery of the whole Songkhla city & the beaches. ⛱️

What can I say is that the view of the tranquil sea 🏖️ is one to treasure.

The sky view ☁️ is also magnificent (depends on the time of day).

The best view of the whole day is the late afternoon view in my opinion.

You can come in early afternoon but beware as the weather is scorching hot. 🥵 🔥

After you finish taking the breathtaking scenery of Songhkla city.

Head back to the inclined elevator 🛗 in order to get down back to the main entrance.

Overall, Tangkuan Hill is one of the places you don't want to miss if you love to take photos of breathtakingly...

Must visit in Songkhla for the panoramic views! When we went, the lift station opened at 9am NOT 830am as listed. Tickets are return and though prices have increased it's still affordable. The lift tracks are covered so there's no view but the lift is air conditioned, which is a godsend in the killer heat (bring umbrellas). There's no fixed schedule for the lift operation; they go up when it's full, so you may have to wait when you want to go down.

To find the royal pavilion, to the right side after the bell tower there's a downhill stairway flanked by gold dragons, walk down it to reach.

Beat the heat by grabbing a local ice cream in a coconut dessert from either stall in front of the lift station, you can sit and eat at the table and chairs in front of the...

To get to the peak of Tangkuan Hill, visitors are corraled into a medium sized elevator than makes it's way laterally up the hillside. The ride up to the peak lasts around 5 minutes and the only scenery is the black walls of the elevator tunnel and odd patches of greenery that can be seen through a few hatches in the tunnel. At the peak, you'll find a few scenic viewing areas and many many monkeys. The monkeys overrun the place and generally don't bother tourists unless they hear the crinkle of plastic bags. Songkhla lies sandwiched between the sea on the left and a large lake on the right, making for a nice view and a good photo opportunity. Overall rather mediocre, but it barely costs anything to take the elevator so why not?
