There's no doubt that this is the quietest main beach on Samui. There is no person in sight at all, other than a couple of guys bringing out their dogs out for a walk. The sand is a little more on the coarser side, so it may not be the most comfortable to lie on, although there are hotels and resorts where one can stay along to relax without getting sandy. The beach is relatively clean but it can get narrow at certain stretches, so abit too near to the waves to lie down. You'll have to bring your own mat cause there are none laid down by any accommodation on the sandy beach. Although very beautiful, one will feel a bit solitary lying there alone, unless you're specifically looking for something like that. There is nary a pub, cafe or drinking place on the stretch, so that contributes to the quietude you'll definitely get when...

The sections that are being vacant, further down the beach close to the Lomprayah pier, are a complete nightmare. There’s trash everywhere. Nobody feels responsible because the hotel owners don’t look right or left. Also there’s plastic glitter everywhere, probably from New Year’s. I am baffled how you could use glitter when you’re next to the sea and the majority ends up in water.
It’s quite cynical when you’re at the pier and there’s banners asking for eco-friendly packaging due to trash. And then the whole beach looks like the pics attached.
I think we might have seen a few people doing an effort cleaning up but if it wasn’t for the tourists, there wouldn’t be clean...
Read moreThis was my favourite beach, with a great view of koh pha-ngan. It's very relaxing there, felt really chilled out. The sea isn't the clearest but don't be put off. The water is warm, there's a little bar that sells drinks and snacks. I loved it there. Oh, and the walk through a bamboo tunnel and then the beach appears. That was my spot.... everything I imagined about koh Samui was brought to life...
