Austrian Corner — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

the friendliest of greetings, a little banter as he explained the menu to us, convinced us to give this restaurant a try.

The food was 'Wunderbar,' (its Austrian, which I had not had before) The beer was good too, but it was the ambience and friendliness, that really sold it to us

It was Songkran, so we agreed to return the next day for lunch...and so glad we did.

Regular Customers who had used the restaurant before, were engaged in water fights with the parades of people passing by, as part of the celebrations, as we arrived.

Whilst unknown, we didn't feel like strangers, as people were so friendly

We met a group from Australia, who confirmed what we now knew .... Great food, good location but most of all a wonderful host.

Going back to samui next year, here will be one of our first port of calls for the barbecue we missed this time around

Awesome Austrian/German cooking. We all had the Jager schnitzel with spaetzle (though I went for the fries) and gave it a thumbs up. The draft beer accompanies this selection very well. This is a popular destination for the many Europeans living on the island. Service suffers a bit with the staff often becoming a bit overwhelmed. There is no air conditioning so afternoon or early evening can be quite uncomfortable inside despite the fans. The interior desperately needs some TLC as there is a lot of clutter and dirty dishes visible through the door to the kitchen. The restaurant is located on a corner with one side fronting on the main road. Fumes and noise are a constant annoyance. All you Can Eat at 260฿ per person, only on Wednesday & Saturdays from 7pm. This deal was part of the reason we extended our stay in Koh Samui so we could attend again, and we rode 30 minutes just to get here.

We booked a table via Facebook but saw plenty of walk ins. The restaurant which also has seating next door was near full. Bang on 7pm they are serving meat, and have a table where you help yourself to plenty of salads, potatoes, breads.

Not able to fault a thing, the owner visits plenty of times offering meats. We had pork chops, skewers, pork belly, ribs, sausages and more! They even give you a dessert that you help yourself to.
