GIANT HOUSE BO PHUT — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Horrible service and food. We ordered drinks and food. Tomato salad and steaks with mashed potatoes. The drinks came 15 minutes later (a Cola and a water). After 45 minutes waiting we asked where the food was. We where told to wait. So we asked for how long and the woman said I don't know. So 60 minutes later we got our tomatoes. They where almost all green and hard, so we could eat only two slices of the dish. We waited another 20 minutes for the main dish. And the lady arrived with our mashed potatoes. It was instant prepared potato from a bag! The once you solve in water. It was very salty and you could taste the cheap watery potato powder. Bah!!! Really? Is it a joke? Wait 80 minutes for instant potato that is prepared in 2 minutes? 🙄 We decided not to eat it. The most annoying was that they kept accepting new people to the restaurant, while they where visibly not able to serve the once who where already sitting there. The couple from the table next to us, waited 1,5 hours for their food and did not got it at all (they ordered simple soup...). So they left. The table behind us hot only their starters after 40 minutes and only half of them. They have kids, so they asked if at least they could have French fries. We saw a few more people discussing their order and leaving... Non of the 4 waitresses speak a word inEnglish. The only words they know is, I do not know and wait... We asked where the stakes are and again no clear answer. So the glass was full and we decided to leave. We walked to the counter because we wanted to pay for the drinks. The owner wanted us to pay the whole bill. 1,5 hour later, we never got the stakes. We did not eat the instant mashed potato at all and only ate 2 slices of the green, hard tomatoes from the plate. So we said we are not paying for the food we did not got and the disgusting dishes we did not eat. He said we do not have to pay for the stakes, but started a fight with us about potato and salad. We where like 'excuse us, you should be happy we want to pay for the drinks... Actually it would be nice if you would apologies for the 1, 5 hours waiting and give us those on the house. He got really mad at us, started to say some (I guess) nasty stuff in Thai which we did not understand. We where shoked. Then he insisted we pay for tomatoes... We where so full of it. So we put the money for the drinks on the counter and told him we are not paying a bhat more, so he could take it or leave it. Then he took the money and waved to us with his hands like we where smelly garbage and said something like 'shof, shof, shof' and then something in Thai again. We left hungry and feeling like we where swerved at 🤬. I would never go back there and would not recommend it. Still shocked of the service, I have never seen such a bad service and food in Thailand before. Thai are normally wery friendly and always care about the quality of...

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed here. We ordered food to take away and the waiting time was unbelievable. After we had language problems, as the staff unfortunately don't speak English very well, we had to wait an hour for the food. They also seemed very uncoordinated (but were at least friendly). In the end, a dish was missing, which only made the waiting time longer. We should have looked at the reviews beforehand, as some people had the same problem with the waiting time. For this reason, we wouldn't go there...

Don’t go to this restaurant if you are hungry! We have waited about 1,5 hours for the food. When I asked the man who looked like the owner of the restaurant after 1 hour and 15min, when our food was going to be served, he just act like he doesn’t understand English and went away. I think most of the guests were waiting very long. Some of them just went out of the restaurant after a while, because nobody came to take their order. The food was actually quite good, but not worth waiting...
