Very very small market. A lot of seafood and fish so it smells inside, floors are wet because they clean fish… lots of vegetables and fruits. Some sellers are very polite and friendly. Some women that sell clothes were friendly, but there were few that looked very unfriendly and after my smile and “hello” just ignored me, there was one bossy lady that talked to the other seller and after that all prices for me were higher and sounded more European like 199 baht 😅 just because I’m a tourist it doesn’t mean that you can rip me off. If there’s no price tag on clothes prepare to hear funny numbers. Bargaining didn’t help. Whatever, I left.

Fruit, produce, meats, fish, seafood, snacks, curries, and other dishes are super fresh and priced pretty reasonably.
The market is also surrounded by many excellent noodle shops (especially across the road) and a visit to Ratchawat is like visiting Bangkok 30 years ago. And while it’s a little off the beaten track for travellers it is well worth a visit if you have the time. You will see a slice of Bangkok that is becoming rarer...
