It was very quiet when we arrived late afternoon which to us was an advantage as it was so peaceful. Steps not a problem if you are reasonably fit. Little disappointed at the top as the signs supposed to tell you what the various sights are had been removed. Hopefully they will be replaced - you can see so much and so far away but unless you know Phuket island really well you will not know what you are looking at (apart from Big Buddha in our case). Cafe on site - we did not visit so cannot review. We did get to see several monkeys climbing around the trees which was a bonus as we had not expected that. As much as I love to see them, it made a pleasant change from seeing them sitting waiting for food at the very well known places - these seemed to be "really wild" We watched for ages as adults and babies moved through the trees and down to the ground. Agree with one review that trees have now obstructed some parts of the view but I would not expect trees to be cut down for our benefit - in my opinion, the observation that 80% view obstructed...
Read moreThe tower is past its heyday but very much standing and still cared for. It sits on top of a rise in a wooded park, within a nicely maintained and landscaped garden. There are steps or a fairly short and gentler sloped path through the cooler woods to access it. Very peaceful and relaxing there, mostly free from litter, it could do with a little tender loving care. There are benches within the tower and grounds. Great views in every direction. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Opens 06:00-19:00. There are toilets 5 Bhat and a stall selling refreshments, don’t forget to haggle. There is also a cafe/restaurant which I believe closes at 22:00. It reminded me of Kathu waterfalls in some respect. Obviously at some point someone invested significant money on them. Perhaps now not as popular as they have previously been but the peacefulness now more rewarding for those willing to make the effort to still...
Read moreYes i gave it one star. The main reason is the main reason you're going to come here? The view. It is about 80% covered by overgrown trees and then that 20% is dispersed into three little sections you can actually see out from that aren't completely covered by trees where you see the ocean and mountains. I've gone to a lot of viewpoints in my life and this one has the least amount of actually good view which is why I gave it 1 star. Also a lot of stairs on way up. Just got here to watch the sunset and I should have known something was strange when the parking lot had only two cars in it and every other place I go to at sunset is completely jam-packed. So I'm leaving now and going to the...
