Grove Phuket — Restaurant in Wichit

I visited the Grove cafe for sunset on Sunday, 02.03.25 with my husband and four-year-old son. Unfortunately we were harassed by dog owners. Despite clear regulations at the entrance, a large dog ran around the area without a leash. Two other dangerous types of dogs (Pit Bull Terriers) were on a leash, but the owners led them around everywhere, including at the playground with the children. The owner of the off-leash dog ordered the dog several times to jump and sit next to him on the bench at the table. The dog stood repeatedly with its front legs on the table and was even allowed to eat from the table. We felt disgusted and lost our appetite. A few smaller dogs at other tables around us were also fed at the tables. The several waiters who obviously saw it, didn't say anything against it.

To avoid it all, I went to the beach to play with my son. Finally the pit bull owner came for a walk with his enormous dog and went straight to my son, who was sitting in the sand. I asked him to please keep his dog at a distance from my child. He said "Why? He is harmless". I said "I don't want to have to test that on my child's body or life, please hold your dog back". He said "No, if you want to have a distance, you should take a distance and go somewhere else". I had to take my son back to the table, who of course protested and wanted to keep on playing in the sand.

We think your cafe is beautiful and the playground is child-friendly. For hygiene and safety reasons, and for the convenience of all guests, please don´t allow to bring any animal anymore. As you can see, in many cases the owners don't follow the rules and it is the others who have to suffer. Although we love this place so much, we don't know If we want to come again, because we are afraid to experience similar...

The service and environment and drinks and pool and entertainments and price are just PERFECT!!!!! Everyone is great here HOWEVER except for just particular ONE waitress in short hair (name sth like “rhait”), her attitude is very rude and didn’t explain a thing to the guest just banning every request at once with a very bad speaking tone while all of us is so polite. I have to mention this becoz we do enjoyed the place and the service here a lot we love this hotel so so much. But sadly this waitress ruined our moments for awhile. LUCKILY the male manager knew about this and he came to understand our situation proactively and try hai very best to make remedies to us. We are so satisfied with how the manager tried his best to do his job. So this is still a 5 star review and we still HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this hotel...

Great spot for a relaxed morning coffee at the beach and to bring (young) kids. The water itself is flat and muddy, so it's good for playing and photos at the beach, but not good for swimming. They have a nice place, good food, a light breeze, swings, a hammock and shade from pine trees.

The waiter ignored us although we were the only customers. If you want food, it's faster to order at the restaurant next to the pool (and they offer more options). This place is just kids trying to be cool, while the restaurant at the pool is more professional.

If the service is better the next time, I'll redo...
