Read moreBeen here today, l walked all the way up from Phuket old town, personally l had no problems in doing the hike, however it's not for everybody, it's a good 50 mins' walk at least, and the last part is on and off uphill, at some point there's a food place on the left side where they have 4 dogs that roam around the area, they walked towards me and it felt a bit intimidating, but they didn't seem aggressive, rather just curious. No idea about public transport as l didn't enquire, I believe you can also get taken there by the many guys around driving a scooter. I liked the viewpoint, by the time l was up there it must have been about 6pm, nice to see Phuket from up above, there was also a pleasant breeze. As far as the monkeys are concerned, they were on the left side of the area (relative to the road you're coming from), as l was told when l asked, l only saw two, but had l not got to the left side of the area l would have seen none at all. If you like viewpoints, it's overall a fair/not too bad place to go to, and it's actually FREE, bring binoculars if...
Read moreIn the jungle, among the mountains, there is one of the highest points of the island, on which a very unusual and beautiful structure resembling a space station is erected - the Khao Rang observation deck. From here, an amazing view of the island opens up. It is especially unusual to be here at dawn and after the sun has set, when the city is illuminated by hundreds of thousands of lights.
It is very green and beautiful here, and the air is fresh and healthy - that is why there is a fitness park here. Monkeys live on the territory of the park, which will beg for food - feeding them is not prohibited. There are interesting swings that are attached to the branches of centuries-old trees. In the gazebo, on the observation deck itself, you can cool off in the shade and get acquainted with the history of Phuket by looking up. Near the gazebo there are two cafes where you can dine while enjoying the beautiful view of the island.
