This place is ruining the entire Medina experience for foreigners by hiring an army of touts who approach you every five minutes claiming to be a friendly local and refuse to leave you alone until you follow them to this rug shop. The first group of them we encountered went so far as to refuse to let us enter the Medina, telling us it was “closed for a festival” so they could channel us to the guy who ”could show us the way in.” We fell for it that time, but telling the other dozen men who approached us in the next two hours that we’d already been to the governor’s house wasn’t enough to get them to leave us in peace.
The house itself is kinda cool - it’s not particularly old and has been refurbished, but still pretty. The rugs might have been nice but I certainly wasn’t in a mood to shop after being lied to and led all around...

The owner clearly hires people to wander around the Medina pressuring tourists into this supposedly historic site.
Can people please stop buying carpets from these pests so that this business model can be stopped once...
