This was my favourite site of ruins in the whole area because:

  1. the magnitude of it - the cisterns are huge and relatively intact. The amount of water they held in their reservoir is incredible.
  2. it is fairly unknown so you will be the only one around and can explore at your leisure. There’s only one cistern full of water, the others have been back filled, but it gives you a sense of the engineering that went...

Really amazing site to see Roman architecture and how they managed water. There are several large cisterns built into a basin on the side of a hill. You can walk around the site and go below to see the cisterns and the flow of water. There is a cafe on site at this location. This site is walking distance to an old Roman...

What an incredible site! There are steps that actually take you down inside the cisterns, but by the time our group figured that out our tour bus was reloading to leave. Definitely take your time to explore the cisterns.
