Now to be honest, this isn't a park in the real sense. There are a few trees, benches to sit on and a big monument, but this is a place in the very centre of Ankara where you go to catch your minibus (dolmuş) - they are all parked there - or a taxi and perhaps do your last min.(grocery) shopping or grab something to drink or eat before you use one of these means of transport. You can also get on the underground here. One can see anything and everything here. It's in the very centre so protests may happen here, views are shared...this is not meant as criticism, just a fact. Actually, I'm sad that Güvenpark looks the way it does because when I first visited this location 13 years ago, it was a meeting point for friends and couples and had a completely different atmosphere. I used to come here once in a while and now I try not to. It's a good thing that pigeons are my favourite type of bird because they are everywhere in this area. Watch out when you go sit on a bench or walk under a tree.😅
