We recently attended a birthday party at Bounce with my 5-year-old son, who was part of the birthday group led by a staff member. While the idea of a guided experience was appreciated, what unfolded left me deeply concerned and disappointed.

The venue was extremely crowded, and the group ended up getting split. At one point, I couldn’t find my son. I approached the staff member leading the group and informed him directly that my child was missing. He responded very casually, saying “he must’ve gone to the washroom.” This was shocking to hear — my son is five years old and would never go alone without finding me first.

What upset me even more was the staff’s response after I raised the alarm. While the rest of the group sat watching the show, he made a superficial effort to “look around” but showed no urgency or genuine concern. There was no empathy, no coordinated search, and no accountability from someone who was supposed to be supervising young children.

I searched frantically throughout the venue and, thankfully, a security guard eventually found my son and brought him back to me. While I am incredibly grateful for that, I was left appalled by the overall lack of responsibility and care shown by the staff.

Bounce needs to seriously reconsider how they manage group bookings for children, especially in such a high-traffic environment.
