This visit was immediately ruined by one of the two security at the entrance, who we asked where to buy the tickets and he pointed out the window. AFTER we had bought the tickets he turns to me and says I cannot enter with my wheelie bag (my camera bag on wheels, the size of a school kid’s bag) when I asked why not? He just repeated not allowed. It’s not stated ANYWHERE in the website or at the door that it isn’t allowed, and I explained to him I cannot carry heavy items because I have a slipped disc in my back so I need it, and gladly opened it to show him my camera in there and rolls of film to which he replied not allowed you need permit for professional camera. Im sorry but what determines a professional or unprofessional camera? It was at this point I just stuck my ticket out to the second security guard who clearly wasn’t on the same page as the one hassling me, that second guy scanned my ticket and I just walked in while carrying my heavy wheelie bag, putting my back in pain just to shut the security up. Keep in mind that people with babies on strollers are allowed in so how does it make sense that a bag on wheelies aren’t allowed? I also said that to him but I know he was just making up rules. Im so fed up with security guards who are drunk on the very little power they are given, this is blatant harassment and ruins the experience for visitors to places CLEARLY INTENDED FOR VISITORS TO TAKE PHOTOS IN THEM!!! Aside from the extremely annoying interaction at the beginning it was a beautiful experience, definitely something to try once. Ticket price is 55 dirhams per adult, there are 3 connected domes with butterflies in them, just be careful when you’re walking not to squish any. Several butterflies will land on you so be aware not to accidentally swat them off.

Dubai Butterfly Garden claimed to be the “World’s Largest Covered Butterfly Garden” consists of ten custom built domes around 6,673 sq.m. Each dome is filled with thousands of beautifully winged creatures, featuring 15,000 butterflies of around over 50 varieties of butterfly in different sizes and colors flying around the visitors. The visit was a lovely experience walking around with all types of butterflies flying around. There are mainly for zones you can walk around, of which the last was the best. Walking along the winding paths, I found myself immersed in a world of beauty and tranquility. Each corner revealed a new species of butterfly, their delicate wings adorned with intricate patterns and hues. I couldn't help but marvel at the diversity of life fluttering around me. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to observe the butterflies up close as they fed on nectar from the flowers. Watching their graceful movements and intricate behaviors was truly mesmerizing, and I found myself captivated by their beauty. Though they claimed about 15,000 butterflies, I found the number to be very few. We expected a lot of butterflies and a wider variety of, but no luck. We found many dead butterlies all around, switch was a pathetic sight. Overall, my visit to the Dubai Butterfly Garden was a delightful experience that left me in awe of the natural world. But it's a one time visit, not to be repeated.
