Calm and peaceful, is the perfect description of this delightful garden. In addition to the fact that there is no admission and you can go in whenever you want, the garden itself is absolutely beautiful, with plants from all over the world gathered there. As you go inside, you will find yourself surrounded by a stunning array of aromatic flowers, and patches of lawn perfect for having a picnic. If you venture in further, there is a wall that separates the flower garden from the arboretum ahead, which displays all kinds of trees from around the world. Keep in mind that the gate built into the wall is a must see - it is a piece of artwork that looks like it must have come from the Secret Garden. Then there is an arboretum, and which includes a huge 150 year old beech, the pride of the garden. If you live in Aberdeen, you should visit the Garden at least once, and the same goes for tourists...

A hidden gem of secret Aberdeen. Our trip here on one of hottest days of the year was an absolute joy. This well kept and luxurious garden really stands alone especially in comparison with the cities other green spaces. With continual council cuts many of Aberdeens traditional gardens have been left to decay and many have really deteriorated over recent years. Fortunately with Cruickshank being run by the University this is just not the case. From the sense overloaded herb garden to the many water features, there are a wide range of flowers, plants, some familiar, many not, that will interest and provoke joy from anyone who visits. Thank you to all the staff who make this botanic garden such a joy to visit, you are enhancing people's life's....
