I’ve been to the Bobbin before and it was a decent pub. Pretty loud, college scene which is great. Previously I had fairly slow service but they’re always super busy and having worked on a restaurant myself I understand completely. However, today I went on Wing Wednesday with a group of friends and we were served 26 completely burned cauliflower wings. I can’t even imagine serving a customer burned food at my workplace and the fact that a manager put the burned food down on our table without a second thought really makes me worry about the rest of the restaurant if the culture is one where this is acceptable even to management. Again, I don’t think it’s always this bad but today I was really disappointed.

Great place to have drinks. Surprisingly the food here is amazing too!! Highly recommend the wings and chicken burgers. Their chicken are amazing and juicy. On Wednesdays they have wings for only 25p each! The service was great and fast. The staff were friendly. It's a friendly, nice, student dominated bar. Can be very busy in the weekends. The place has quite a lot of tables and chairs but will be full in the weekends. Will definitely be coming back for the wings on Wednesdays!

Nice and cozy student pub. Great food and wide variety of drinks. USB charging sockets available in the tables for free, as well as charging cables upon request at the bar. If you're planning for a quick charge of your phone you're out of luck though, the power output of the USB ports didn't go over 500 mAh during my measurement (though my phone was already at 93%). Still, would definitely recommend the pub for its food and drinks.

We are here from out of country and stopped in based on all the positive reviews. I am sad to say it did not live up to the expectations.

It seemed like a spot with a cool atmosphere, and given the positive tripadvisor/google reviews and the proximity to the sports centre, it seemed ideal as we are attending a competition. Figured this would be a reliable spot for lunch over several days.

We ordered drinks, a pizza, cauliflower "wings" and some chips (fries). Honestly the pizza was below the quality of a frozen pizza back home, which is saying a lot about how bad it was - possibly the worst pizza I have ever eaten. I thought it might be a microwaved pizza as the crust was inconsistently cooked, but regardless it was bad.

The cauliflower wings were terrible. Admittedly I am not a cauliflower wings guy, but these were overcooked /burned and the sauce was terrible with them.

The fries were "meh", nothing particularly interesting. Again, like store bought and heated in an oven (not fried).

Overall there have to be better options. We ate at another pub two days ago (downtown) and the food there was shockingly better. Maybe it's better if you are drinking? Maybe we just hit it at a bad time (I've had that before, and noted a big improvement the second time around at different places). Problem is, this was so bad I would not go back...

We came by bus, but parking appeared limited. There was a washroom for disabled people on the first floor, but otherwise washrooms are upstairs (clean and quite...

The Bobbin has really declined in the past two years or so - what used to be my favourite spot for a cheap All Day Breakfast and a Pint has now become the only pub in Aberdeen that I would avoid at all costs.

Today's trip solidified my overall opinion through the following:

-The Breakfasts being much smaller than they used to be, while the price has remained the same.

-There being no napkins at the table.

-On asking twice for napkins with none arriving, a member of staff told us to "get them ourselves".

-Karaage Chicken being incredibly tough, as well as the garnish being overly sweet.

-Mac and Cheese being bland (although actually very cheesy).

-The football match being played FAR too loudly, when none of the very few people in the bar were watching apart from the staff, meaning I had to shout over it to my friend who was sat two feet away.

-None of our food matching the pictures on the app.

-The app being impossible to navigate, with some items simply not available to order through it.

-Cookie Dough ice cream being burnt.

-Other tables getting their food much quicker than us, despite our order being much smaller.

-Ordering pints and only getting half pints, with there being more ice than drink.

-No hand sanitizer being offered, thankfully we had brought our own.

-No toilet paper in most of the male stalls.

The Bobbin has officially lost one of its most loyal customers. I will not...

It is with regret that I have to leave this bar with a bad rating, however the service we have received from the current supervisor in charge can only be described as “abysmal”.

We arrived at the bar specifically to watch the grand national, and confirmed with the bartender on service when we arrived that it would be showing on the screens (we could see the sky racing channel on, and were told it would be showing on there).

About 15 minutes before the race only local races were showing, and we became concerned that it wouldn’t show on this channel and re-confirmed at the bar it would be showing. We also asked for sound to be turned on when the race started and were told that couldn’t be done.

Two minutes before the race we became very concerned it was the wrong channel. The supervisor in charge told us to our faces that the race had been delayed and would show. We phoned a friend who was watching it who told us the race was actively starting - he just lied to our faces. When we challenged it, he pouted, left the room and changed the channel.

The sound was left off throughout. At the end, as soon as the race was over it was switched to the football - and the sound was turned up straight away for football commentary nobody was listening to in the bar.

Absolutely shocking service, lies, and then not being in the slightest sorry when proven that he was wrong. Not good...
