A lovely park to visit with the kids or just to go for a walk. The bottom end of the park near the band stand has a small bike track with pretend shops and petrol pump, there aee some benches and picnic tables there too. The river is close by, where you can play pooh sticks! A short walk up the hill brings you to the main enclosed play park, with swings, small slide, climbing frame and see saw. Outside of the enclosed area is a huge sandpit, a larger climbing pyramid, roundabout and various things to climb on. There is also a MUGA for various ball games. Plenty of grass and benches for picnics too.
There is a small cafe with crazy golf next to the park as well as public toilets. You can purchase bird food to feed the ducks from the cafe too. The lake is close by and there is a path all the way round if you fancy a walk. There are also some gravity style exercise machines just below the play park.
The heritage centre is not far away and also worth...
Read moreAbsolutely gutted regarding accessibility for disabled, we've been attending this park for more than 15 years. however, I recently broke my spine, and I'm currently using a walking stick. They have always been an absolute nightmare opening the gates up some are able to drive up, I do t understand why adults can't use the carpark. if it's full, you simply turn round and park elsewherethen. it nearly killed me walking from the elsecar heritage centre carpark at the weekend. Now im reluctant to go back due to this. they do not take into account disabled people. The cafe is VERY SLOW and absolutely pathetic in serving people, you can only go in to be served if you're sitting in, ??? I went in and there were 2 girls stood behind the counter doing Absolutely nothing and yet the queue outside was down past the crazy golf. something needs to change there. however, the play are, grass etc are wonderful for...
Read moreReally lovely and well-maintained park. Toilet facilities and a great cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The play area and equipment is great for all ages of children and there are so many bits to the park, it's great to explore. I love the small park area near to the bandstand with a pretend village area for kids to ride their scooters round etc- we didn't see this the first few times we visited as it is hidden behind the trees to the right of the bandstand, but it is such a lovely space for the kids to have fun! The lake makes a lovely area to walk around too and plenty of open areas for the dogs to have a run. There is also a pitch and put and mini-golf. Perfect for a nice afternoon out in the...
