There is a rumour that Queens has more to offer than architecture and my guess what, education has a very large part to play. But to concur with the previous reviews, this place is absolutely amazing in every way from stunning architecture to an immense visual feeling of knowledge and history. Much to discover and describe but being a student, will allow that privilege of discovery.
From the moment you step onto campus, the students and professors are extremely welcoming and committed to making every student feel part of the community. The academics are top notch in every department with accessible and enthusiastic professors that push their students to achieve greatness. The social scene is incredible and open for students to enjoy on the weekends as a way to connect with others. Although people who have never visited Belfast are concerned about safety, Queens does an amazing job of making sure the campus is safe at all hours and works to connect university students to local life.To achieve the honour of becoming a Queens academic / peer / student, means you have already an understanding of what is expected of you, therefore like life, you'll get out what you put in. Read moreMy fiancee signed up for a half time masters course starting this fall, and was given information that the full time course was done in modules and the halftime students could choose which module to do and which module to save for later. What wasn't said was that the halftime students would automatically be signed up for all modules and would have to pay a fee for dropping any of them, and that it wasn't recommended to do the modules one by one. Instead the courseleader suggested he do all modules now and do no modules next fall, thus achieving "halftime" (100% now and 0% later, split in half makes for 50%). The reason for wanting halftime studies in the first place was because he's also working (with one day off a week to do the masters).
We planned our next 2 years around this masters. And now we dont know how to make this work at all. £6000 and if he drops the course they will keep a large chunk of the money because he already signed a paper, when he had the wrong information. And now they give the right information when it's too late to pull out. It's a scam. Thieves in a fancy building. How many courses are designed like...
Read moreQueen's University Belfast is famous as one of the oldest and top-ranked universities in the world. But don't be mistaken, not all the courses here are top-ranked. It's wise to do some research on the course you're interested in before choosing this university.
The campus is not only nicely located just a 30-minute walk from the city center but also stunningly beautiful, with remarkable architecture that showcases the work of renowned architect Sir Charles Lanyon. It's easy to commute to and from other cities in Northern Ireland by train or bus. Finding part-time jobs and places to eat nearby isn't hard, and the Students Union building has a coffee shop, stationery store, and a mini supermarket.
People in Belfast are generally really friendly and welcoming, but just remember, there might be rare exceptions. Plus, there are lots of beautiful places nearby to explore during semester breaks, all easily reachable with affordable public transport.
Whether you're considering studying here or just visiting, Queen's University Belfast has a lot to offer, including an eye-catching campus that's a...
