Tru Spice Caribbean Kitchen — Restaurant in Birmingham

Food arrived in the delivery bag spilt every wear in the bag, due to the food not being wrapped because restaurant wants to save cling film, this is not the 1st time this has happened. I think the people that answer the phone are rude and there customer service is extremely poor. You are losing customers because of your half hearted work. Do better!!!! 29/05/2020

ABSOLUTELY TRASH!!!!!!!! Ive been going to try spice for about 2 years now, although their customer service is extremely poor, I still went because the food was nice, I actually looked up how much I've spent there and I've spent around £350 there throughout the years. Recently they have opened up after a refurbishment, I was excited to go and even convince others to go and support them, we made our order over the phone because they always take long to make your order in the shop... The girl on the phone mixed up the orders when we got there. There prices have gone up, understandable when the food is at the right standards, which it isnt! (23/04/21)I ordered a large mixed dinner that came up to £15 I had got mushy prawns and 3 pieces of oxtail that was hard and I could even bite it. I called back to tell them about my complaint and the girl on the phone just kept saying that the manager is busy. I called 3 times allowing the manager Chantell to respond to this complaint. She could care less about her regular customers. Just to make this clear I, my family & friends will never be returning back here to support this business every again. The food is now as bad as the Customer service! Extremely disappointed and she still hasn't responded to me although she has my number. I thought customers complaint should be dealt with immediately. I think they all need training again, especially the management, hopefully they realize it sooner before they lose...

I rarely write reviews but we chose this restaurant based on reviews and boy, was it a disappointment...

RIdiculous wait time of 35 minutes when we were told 15 and then found out our rice and peas was swapped to just plain rice without being told or asked. No way would we have waited for plain rice! When the food EVENTUALLY came, there was no apology or anything extra added as way to keep us happy or whatever.

Almost 80% of the stuff on your menu was finished at 8pm and was only told at be til. Here's a simply logical idea for you... Maybe cross out what is finished or have a list of what is left. It will save frustration and further disappointment.

Lastly, try investing in some plastics takeaway containers rather than those cheap polystyrene takeaway boxes.

To conclude, I get your food is OKAY and you are always busy (coming from someone who loves her food and from the Caribbean herself) but doesn't mean you should slack on customer satisfaction in other areas. Word of mouth is a powerful tool. Overall, I will...

My gf and i ordered brown stew chicken with hard food and steam veg which they left out the steam veg and 5 jerk wings with rice and peas+steam veg and recieved no rice and peas and veg for that too. So effectively I spent £9.15 for just 5 dry wings. We called the place and the lady try to lie and say the wings came with no side even though it was advertised as required. I also order festivals which cost £3.45 and only received 2 and in most places its 2 festivals for £1. This place is not only false advertising and taking peoples money. The food is not authentic carribean food,the wings were dry, brown stew chicken tasted bbqy and the jerk sauce tasted nothing like jerk with sweet corn and other stuff that not suppose be in jerk. Overall a horrible experience and we wasted £26.48. IF YOU LOOKING FOR GOOD CARRIBEAN AVOID THIS PLACE...
