Had a lovely day at the beach here. The huts come equipped with most things you need, like a microwave, fridge and a tap with 20 litres of water. Also a table, chairs, mugs, crockery, bottle opener etc. You get a key to use toilet facilities, about three minutes walk away - these were clean throughout the day. Parking is just a few minutes walk away and you can use a provided trolley to drag all your gear to the hut.
Only slight problems when we went were the fact that another group was in our hut when we arrived at 10am. They had failed to open their hut so just moved along to our one instead, but it wasn't a huge problem as we just managed to open their original one. It also states loads of times when booking that you can only have 6 people in the hut and you're not allowed to sit on and block the promenade itself (each hut has a spacious deck though). The two huts next to us had 20-30 people plus sat outside them and blocking a lot of the promenade so the management had to ask them to pack up as it puts their business at risk to have that many people blocking the pavement. There were also so many of them that it was pretty noisy and they kept drifting across to stand right in front of our hut, so my view of grey sky and mudflat was blocked by old women in anoraks. We were quite pleased when sweet justice was served and they were asked to leave. Then I felt bad for feeling pleased because they had a big birthday party setup for a small child in their group. 'Even if it's your birthday, you've still got to follow the rules, you idiot!' I said under my breath as they walked away, dragging their things through the tidal mud, off towards the sea until they could be...
Read moreWow-chilly, wet Easter Sunday & I thought our long anticipated seaside trip was going to be a damp squib....it was nothing of the sort. Once we were all inside (still comfortable with seven) the hut was cosy (five minutes with the provided fan heater) & we were enjoying our picnic with steaming 'beach hut' mugs of tea/cup-a-soup it was very atmospheric. The view was still amazing & we all found it entertaining watching the myriad of people & dogs passing by. We were able to enjoy a walk on the beach and kite flying although it was too cold to hold our planned sandcastle competition (blast, I had the winner planned, I'm sure). We had more laughs later playing cards with a cream tea & even enjoyed a hot meal of baked potatoes & chilli (heated up in the microwave) before going ten-pin bowling. The hut was amazingly well thought out, spotlessly clean, comfortable & decorated just as a beach hut should be. The loos were a three minute walk down the prom & were very clean & spacious. Whilst it didn't turn out the way I envisioned because of the weather, with a few tweaks to our plans we still had a great time. If the forecast isn't what you hoped for don't be put off, think about the following: -dress in layers including extra base layers-you can't be happy if you're cold! -Waterproof coat with hood -wellies with socks for splashing on beach -blankets -something hot to eat (microwave?) -cup-a-soup! -if more than 6 of you take extra mugs -remember there's still things to visit in the rain!
We can't wait to book again-lots of happy...
Read moreHad a fantastic time from beginning to end yesterday. Even before we set off the guest book we received with all relevant information, it was a great help. We arrived to find trolleys next to the toilet block to help us ferry all our food, drinks, games, etc. down the hut itself. The hut itself had been throughly cleaning and had plenty of everything that you may need cutlery, glasses and plates, etc. As was the toilet block with numerous toilets that you needed key access to in order to prevent general access from the public. There was also a separate seating area and washer and dishwasher.
The access to the hut itself was up two steps and for me became more of a struggle as the day went on because I became more tired and cold. Could it be possible to have a hut with ramp access? Also, maybe consider wifi as more and more board games are now using apps on phones, and my data kept dropping.
I would like to thank the staff who were friendly and helpful and on hand should you need throughout your stay.
The huts also contained a dab radio, which was a great accompaniment to the laughter.
Would I use the beach hut again - yes, without a...
