Barton's point is a little jam. So many people in the medway area dont even know about it, andvits only 18 miles away. Barton's point is the name of the coastal point that is just along the from Sheerness sea front. It lies on the estuary of the River Thames and Medway. The country park lies over the road from the point itself. Free parking, Camping/ touring, Open walks, Children's play area and water activities such as kayaking, Paddle Boarding. Great for the little ones in the family who can purchase fishing nets, and crab lines from the shop. Hot and cold drinks and the quick bite can also be purchased. Miniature train, and a remote control aircraft flying area also available. Been visiting the park since my children were small, now going with my...

Good recreation area. Comprising of brackish coastal lake and smaller channels where non-engine powered watersports are allowed. Such as kayaking, windsurfing paddle boarding etc. Miniature gauge railway. Area for model aircraft flying and children's adventure playground.

The Boathouse Café opens every day in summer season and has a lovely decking area with tables beside the lake. Serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes and more. Payment for use of the lake, if you bring your own equipment, is taken in the café too. For just £5 per day this is...

Lovely scenic views, but I wouldn't camp there again. "Elvis" the campsite manager is somewhat of a character who not only decided to rent out the only drinking water tap to the circus up the road, but decided it a great idea to lock the gates, stopping campers from entering or leaving the site while he went for a few tinnies at the circus. I had to march him back to let us in while trying to explain the health and safety implications of his actions, to which he replied "I see what your saying but it's better here than it used to...

This is a great little place, you can take all sorts out on the water at around £5 per vessel. The Café is great, selling a wide range of food but the site doesn't mind you taking a picnic. People seemed to respect the surroundings which is great, no litter or random dog cr*p around. Dogs must be on a lead at all times. There is a campsite as well right by the water that sectioned off away from the Day time public visitors. Kids play area and also not far at all from the Sea as you can see from the pictures + Footage here:

I have been to Bartons point several times, living in London it's nice to go somewhere that the kids can have freedom and enjoy themselves. We easily spend the day here, nice lake for crabbing or taking out your dingy. Large climbing frame with sandpit, nice cafe that you can buy crabbing supplies. Toilet is available too but make sure you take your own toilet roll.
