Tree-lined park with vast open grassed space where kite-flying is possible. In the southeastern corner of the park an old pavilion has been repurposed in recent years as a cafe with seating outside. Within the park nearby is the tennis club which appears well used. Free car parking is available on busy residential streets adjacent although most rec users seem to walk or cycle there. Read moreI've lived in this town all my life. I've gone to the REC since my childhood, I have had great, fun and wholesome experiences here. It's a great place to meet up with your family and friends whilst eating fish and chips from the cafe nearby.
However it lose a star because of the anti social behaviour that goes on in the park, it's more prevalent during dark (Anti Social Behaviour; littering, drug and alcohol use and the selling of drugs.)
In fact I wouldn't feel safe going for a stroll in the night. It's a shame, I hope the council do something about it, it puts people off...
Read moreFaversham recreation ground is a great space for the whole family, it now has a coffee booth with outside seating, the toilets have been upgraded and the play areas are always busy with children of all ages, there are football and rugby pitches marked out during the season, tennis and bowls clubs (not sure of the membership requirements) and the park has a wide tarmaced path which goes right the way round which is fantastic for joggers, walkers, cyclists, roller skaters and dog walkers, weather permitting you could take a picnic and...
