Incredibly slow service and not particularly attentive. We order coffees, scrambled eggs on toast, a pancake and flat bread with humus. Something I my self could prepare in 30min tops.
Unfortunately, our order was literally lost by the staff, after an hour of waiting, we queried this when multiple patrons had received their orders before us even though they arrived after us. As our order was forgotten we cancelled the food and paid for only our drinks, which were ordered at the same time as our food. To their credit they did not charge us for the drinks.
We also noticed how other guests were seated and promptly given menus, this was not the case for us, and were mostly ignored. Little things like bringing sugar with the coffee were forgotten. The staff were not friendly and I felt this was intentional!
We also had to walk through their kitchen to get to the only available seating which is at the back garden. This was probably the first warning sign as I would not use the word clean to describe the kitchen.
I will state this was on a particularly busy day. Hop festival, however the place was not exceptionally busy, it's not a very large cafe anyways and they were clearly getting through other patrons orders, which were primarily drinks.
Frankly unacceptable service and the behaviour from the staff was borderline pure incompetence, the waitress who we queried where our food was asked who took the order, ironically it was her 😂. They clearly were not prepared for the day, but that is not really an excuse given that they were not nearly as busy as other places and they are suppose to be one of Faversham's better places to have a breakfast.
This experience resulted in us not being able to have our planned breakfast in Faversham as by the time we got out of Jittermugs it was...
Read moreEverything about this cafe is indicative of a lack of effort and utter carelessness. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was that the decor left a lot to be desired with little to no atmosphere. However, you can't judge a book by its cover, right? Although our orders were taken promptly, we felt somewhat rushed by our waiter. After ordering, we waited about twenty minutes for our food to arrive despite being the only ones in the cafe who had ordered food. When our orders finally got to the table, it was obvious that no effort had been put into its preparation. Although my culinary skills are few, I could've undoubtedly prepared the food better myself and for a lower price. I ordered avocado and cream cheese on toast, which looked very plain and somewhat sad. There wasn't even any salt and pepper on top of the avocado, and the "side salad" wasn't even dressed! My boyfriend ordered the ham and cheese toastie, which looked thin, scant, and dry. We didn't order any drinks besides coke, so don't really have much to say about that besides the fact that they used cups which had obviously been purchased at Ikea. Overall, the whole dining experience left me wondering why I should waste the time and money of going there if saying home and making a sandwich would be more enjoyable. At least I wouldn't have forgotten to throw a little balsamic...
Read moreNOT DOG FRIENDLY looked online to find a dog friendly breakfast place and found jittermugs. Food lovely but guy behind the counter was incredibly rude. Came here 22nd august 2021 with our two small dogs. Sat outside for breakfast. Some dogs walked past so naturally our dogs barked at them as they come past, they did this twice maybe 3 times. We heard the guy making coffee not sure if he’s the owner or not say “I’m going to skin those dogs alive if they carry on” we finished our breakfast and I went in and paid for our food. I explained that I’d looked online and it said dog friendly. I also said I didn’t respect him saying that he would skin my dogs alive. He replied “you shouldn’t bring your dogs to town if they bark” I’m sorry but dogs bark and it states online that you are dog friendly. I told him we wouldn’t be returning. His behaviour was disgusting it’s a shame the food was so lovely. As I would of liked to have said compliments to the chefs. I suggest you take dog friendly off your online representation. And In future not say threatening words in an environment where customers can...
