I’ve been a loyal customer at Amsons for years and have bought many abayas from them without issue. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was quite upsetting. I purchased an abaya as usual, took it home and washed it, and was surprised to find it had shrunk significantly. When I returned to the store to explain, a woman working there accused me of cutting it. She did mention that the material tends to shrink and they usually advise customers to size up — something I was not told at the time of purchase.
A man behind the counter offered me alternative options as again he was aware that this issue occurs with this particular material and I appreciated the chance to exchange the item. However, after choosing the same dress in a larger size and returning to the counter, he also accused me of cutting the original dress after the women had clearly approached him. I was visibly upset at this point, and to his credit, he did apologize and admitted that he shouldn’t have made such an accusation without knowing the full story.
I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but this experience has really left a mark on me. I’ve always turned to Amsons as a trusted Islamic store, and being wrongly accused — not once, but twice — felt deeply disheartening. I hope the staff can take this as constructive feedback and approach future customer concerns with more...
Read moreIf you buy a clock and it's faulty, the hour hand is not on the hour. First the screwdriver comes out but I said not when I paid a lot of money. Then they went to look for another but none. Well can I have a refund then? NO. Are we not allowed a refund on faulty goods as per the law. Our policy staff say I only work here can only do exchange or credit note. Can I speak to your boss, not here, ring him for me , can not do that. Gives me a card to ring so ring the numbers only to listen to their advertisement. We only do exchange he says, where does it say that well it's on the receipt after you have bought it !!! So forced to get a credit note then picked another clock made sure it worked and the hour needle worked. Left my number for the boss to ring me if that ever happens, he finally said the boss is away and will be after Eid. So why not say that in the first place to me rather then waste my time further ringing numbers he gave. So helpful when buying but totally the opposite when you have a problem. If you are allowed to have a exchange only policy even when the goods are faulty why do you not clearly say that on the door with signs up not on back of the receipt which is misleading. Maybe legally you can do it but is it even Islamically right. A few hours wasted having to travel back...
