Empire Theatre — Attraction in Braintree

Th empire is a fantastic little cinema. We always came here as children before Braintree had a cinema and it is just as good now.

The tickets are a great price, particularly for the kids films. Sweets, popcorn and drinks are well priced too. As a family it costs us around £15 total for 4 tickets, drinks, popcorn and sweets. It's not much less than that for a single ticket at the bug cinemas.

Also love that it's just music before the film, no adverts or trailers. And the film always starts right on time.

The empire also do Autism Friendly Screenings and Dementia Friendly Screenings once a month. Amazing!

It's a great place for the live shows...

So good to see this place being used for other events. Went to see a tribute band, which were very good. You can book tickets online with a £1 booking fee, so no rip off charges. A lovely old building and a perfect size for the stand up comedy show. Only issue was the ticket said doors open 1830 and we planned to arrive for a drink before the show but on arrival at 1850 was told we are not ready so walked up the road and found the brilliant Courtyard micro pub where we had a couple of pints before returning...
