Cinnamon Tree — Restaurant in Braintree

This place is so good I can almost just vote 5 stars for all and be done with it. Seriously good! I've been using them for about 8 years since they were in the old building at the top of the hill. Had multiple birthdays here, multiple takeaways (I mean a lot). I have never had one issue at all. Every time I go back I'm blown away how good the food is, I'm almost like "do I remember it being THIS good?". Not oily, not heavy, perfect flavour, great choice, one of the only restaurants that actually make the Tikka masala properly madras hot (unlike others that think you can't take it and don't even make it that hot). Staff are like friends you've always known, service is fast. Atmosphere in the new place is to a really high standard. I could be here all day. Eat here with confidence, you will NOT be disappointed. Oh and did I mention the prices are very reasonable too. 5 stars all day long!...

At time of booking we were not told about the very limited menu, only told when we were sat at table which was annoying as i wouldn't normally have had anything on that menu so would rather have come back when they were less busy with a normal menu. Very busy because they have moved to a bigger restaurant along from the old place, so busy that I think they were struggling to cope and it showed in the service which was slow and it showed in the food which wasn't very good, chicken tikka madras 6 small pieces of chicken in a thin sauce could tell it was mass produced, my daughter asked for chicken tikka masala but a bit spicy if possible it came out so sweet with coconut it could have been a desert. Poor service Was a regular at the old place. For at least 11years. We had 1 nam bread 1 pilau rice 3 pappadoms 1sag alloo 3 small bottles of kingfisher 1 lamb makarni Which consisted of half a dozen Pieces of lamb. Tough as old boots Swimming in about 1/2 a pint of sauce. 1duck tikka massala I think it was a rubber duck Again hardly any duck in A large bowl of sauce. Total £65.20 Which£6.50 was service charge. Paid £80. Waited for at least 15 minutes For waiter to return with change But never did. Had to ask someone else Who was quite rude. So will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.
