Happened upon the centre today, above the library in the Angel building, completely by chance. Free to get in, with free parking. Normally I'm with family on the beaten track, so it was a great discovery and I will visit again. The centre has dedicated volunteers, who are kind and helpful, they're so friendly. The exhibition area is huge, there's a flat bottom boat, an Ancholme find, temporary exhibits, classes, crafts and activities are available. Check the opening hours, it's a fascinating place worth a trip, there are so many interesting facts and pictures and physical artifacts. The jewel in...

I volunteered for the Heritage centre on a couple of occasions - once while completing my MA and wrote some interpretative material for a particular only to find that that the original project had been scrapped under the new management. I later found out that project had been re-ignited and my assistance refused. A fascinating local museum staffed by friendly, informative volunteers.

Regularly-changed exhibitions with lots of artifacts to see. Pride of place is the massive bronze age boat/raft (the experts disagree) discovered in Brigg.
