The Black Bull is a cosy traditional pub. There is a wide selection of beers lager and cider, but unfortunately, no hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales when we visited. The staff are very welcoming and the pub is dog friendly. There is a nice outside seating area behind the pub.

Have been to this place a few times and went again still thinking it was Dexter's Alehouse. It was Sunday lunchtime and we didn't think we would get a table . But I was surprised to find the place only a quarter full. We were shown a table and the staff seemed a little embarrassed to ask us about either paying as we ordered or to swipe my card , I understand this though, if some customers have left without paying, so no problems there. The problem came as we waited nearly an hour for our food, despite asking where it was, the staff seem bemused themselves as to why it was taking so long. When it did arrive the quality was not up to the usual Dexter's standard, so much so i approached a member of staff who informed me it had changed hands. I said I was not happy with the wait and the food quality,. The staff member agreed with me ! What a shame, no doubt the new owners will offload this place once the have run it into the grounds through the penny-pinching with food and...

Visited yesterday and have to say it was very disappointing. Used to eat here a couple of years ago so recommended it to my family. The table mats were dirty, very shabby and I wouldn't have put my dogs dinner on them. I asked for some more and they replaced with equally dirty ones, which we asked them to clean for us. He did this with a dirty cold dish cloth. When the food arrived it (Sunday roast) it was thin tasteless meat, overcooked vegetables and dried up roast potatoes and a yorkshire pudding that needed a saw to cut it. Will never visit again, I had to keep apologizing to my family for...

Went here awhile ago was being attracted by their beer garden (to be honest we are not drinkers just thought it's a warm place to enjoy the sun when dining!) The restaurant itself was so small, we were told to stay indoor rather than in the garden. Food wasn't as expected on standard even worse than any other family pub. The kitchen door kept banging open n closed while we sat in. The staff either kept coming to you ask for orders or disappeared when you really do need somethings! Lots other place to eat down the road so will not recommend to friends and will not dine again as it's not...
