The food was excellent and the courtyard itself was very nice, however the service with regards to clearing away dirty used pots was a little haphazard. The thing that spoiled it for me was the rather grotty toilets. They really do need an update. All that being said, The afternoon tea that we had was delicious, sandwiches that we chose ourselves, small sausage rolls, slices of quiche a small salad, coleslaw, and bowls of crisps all very nicely served on long boards. The cakes were brought out at the same time, again on a long wooden board. Scones with butter, pots of jam and individual pots of clotted cream. There was also millionaire shortbread and a very crumbly shortbread topped with jam and crumble. I had Earl Grey tea to drink, others in the party had coffees again all nicely served.

Given that, we visited Brigg to see a family member, and since we had an hour to kill, we visited the Cafe Courtyard. Very delightful! It looks like public money has gone into remodeling an old building complex into a series of cafes, stores and office space. From the christmas themed, freshly prepared with quality ingredients, finger sandwiches to the Christmas scone and mini trifle the food was a fantastic taste experience.
