Been before and it was a 5 star for the lady used to own this place.
Had a chance been back now after 4 months due to COVID-19, change hands, food - was not bad but wasn’t as expected, don’t mention compare to the old owner’s (Portion smaller now but price ‘not cheap’)! For similar range of money you spent here, you can get better service and even better food at other place in the area (grandad shed or Wetherspoons).
One more thing let us down was almost all of the old couples they came in with their own pet dog! Sign was out on the door saying ‘guide dogs only’ but it didn’t show us those dog owners sat in with us were disabled people with their guide dogs.

There was an excellent selection on the menu. I ended up just going for it and having the Full English Breakfast for £9.95, which was a real plateful and inclusive tea and toast. I considered it very good value for money. It was a very filling and absolutely delicious breakfast, which, even when I felt pretty full, I still ploughed through because it was so nicely cooked with good quality ingredients. During a visit to see family we stopped for refreshments and a scooby snack... elevenses! There's a choice to sit either inside or outside at the tables, you can grab a quick bite to eat or a proper meal whether for breakfast or lunch. We seated ourselves and ordered straight away, choosing quickly from the great value menu.
