Gullivers World..Ok. We paid for the Eat, Sleep, Play package with the accomodation being one of their tipees, we thought it’d be cool to posh camp haha. We arrived just after the 4 o’clock check in time to be greeted by a helpful chap in the hotel, who gave us a key for the tent which would be padlocked and told us it’s somewhere around the back 🤷🏻♂️ ok, nice one. Onto get the wristbands and meal details for the play and eat part. Greeted at the entrance turnstile by a lady who was the furthest from friendly and cheery you could get. This person is the first visitors usually see on arrival, no welcome or even a smile to get people excited to be there. She then gave us meal tickets and booked time slots for evening meal and breakfast. She then proceeded to hand us a strip of wristbands to attach ourselves and mentioned that family entertainment would be in the Starlight Lounge from 7:00pm. Wonderful. Something for our children after the park is closed for the day. Onward to the first part of play. By this time it was 4:40pm yes the park is open till 5:00pm and we did arrive a little late but a ride or two to finish off. We found that the staff were scarce and most of the rides were already closing down for the day. Ok Eat then. Arrived at the hotel for our allotted time slot for evening meal. The menu was pizza, pizza or pizza for adults and chicken nuggets, hotdog or pasta for children. This is included in the package remember, the Eat part. Ordered our meals. 2 pizzas and 3 children’s meals, we ordered a drink and some sides to go along with it. Cost £40! The included meal was for a Margarita pizza only, toppings were charged as extra, the sides were charged as extra and the drink we expected to pay for was also extra. None of which was explained to us, we were handed a printed off menu to choose from and that was it. The children’s meal came in a small cereal bowl which was probably enough for a toddler but not 10 and 11 year olds. Disappointing. Service was slow, with one meal brought out at a time. Ok Family entertainment. Arrived at the Starlight at 7pm. Stopped at the door by a chap who asked if we had a booking for food? Replied we didn’t but here for the entertainment. He asked again if we had a booking, I replied no we had eaten at the hotel, he then told us that the room was already fully booked and we couldn’t come in. The room was empty! Ok Sleep part. Tipee was basic, large enough for our family of 5 but no electric hookup included in this one, the smaller ones have that 🤷🏻♂️ bed are like wooden pallets on the floor with a flimsy mattress a thin quilt and one thin pillow each. Getting undressed in the dark or with a phone torch is difficult with children to help out too. Situated right next to the outdoor play area attached to the back of the hotel wasn’t ideal either. Children screaming, swearing, running around yes playing but gone 11pm at night was uncomfortable. With their parents also joining in. Side note if you do book a tipee and they put you in number 9 Totem Pole, ask to be changed. Planes flying over in and out of John Lennon Airport also all night long. Disturbed night to say the least. Ok tired and hungry off for the included breakfast as part of the package. Stopped at the door again at Starlight Lounge and order taken there, choices are one bowl of cereal or one sausage or bacon sandwich, not both and one drink either fruit juice or one hot drink tea or coffee. Ok. Arrived at the table, order wrong and the hot drink were sachets to make your own, one sachet of milk, sugar and coffee. Wonderful, breakfast sandwiches are cold and dry, should have chosen Weetabix. Ok off to the final part of the package Play. The park itself is ok, plenty for the children with a variety of rides. Some are outdated but the Gears area is a little more modern. In my opinion, if you are to visit Gulliver’s World buy an entry to the park and bring...
Read moreVisited 6th august with my 15 month old son. Knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to go on everything abut also knowing there was a vast selection of attractions he could go on for his first visit to a theme park.
The park is very traditional. And old style theme park with old style rides, there are newer areas in the park but the vast majority hasn’t changed in over 2 decades. Which is absolutely not to its detriment. It’s lovely to roam around the park and hear children playing, laughing and having fun on these older style attractions that don’t need the latest technology to be fun. There’s something really nice about getting in your teacup that’s on a wooden platform and spinning it as much as you dare with a small child on you me knee.
The ride selection for my son was impressive to say the least. Even more so that there wasn’t actually enough time in the day to do all the attractions he is able to ride, so we will absolutely be returning to do the other half of the park and most likely many times over until he ‘graduates’ from this style of park to a more modern style of park such as Alton Towers or Thorpe Park.
The ride staff are all a pleasure to deal with and all give parents the instructions they need to ride safely especially with very small children and the attractions themselves are very clearly marked in terms of what children can and cannot go on for safety reasons. Essentially as long as your child can sit on their own then you’re good for a lot of the smaller attractions. Obviously you can hold the child in place in whichever way is comfortable. For me that was arm round his shoulders and hugging him into me (I’m a larger guy so a lot of the restraints fitted me but left him basically free to move if I wasn’t pinning him to my side)
Food options are limited. And the location we chose to eat (more my own fault rather than the parks but I digress) was cramped and the food wasn’t amazing but it was serviceable, prices are theme park normal however the size difference between a child’s meal and an adult is the amount of main item. A child’s sausage and chips and an adults sausage and chips has the same amount of chips but adults have another sausage the price difference however suggests that a sausage costs around £3, pizzas are much more reasonably priced and we probably should have walked the 2 minutes to that location which was much more open with outdoor seating.
The park itself is clean and tidy staff are always around cleaning or tidying some aspect of the park which is great to see. They clearly take great pride in their workplace which is awesome.
We will absolutely be visiting again. Loved the day, loved the park, all things considered a very inexpensive day. But you can’t really put a price on the memories...

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE AND WHERE IS THE LACK OF CONSIDERATION OF OFFERING CUSTOMERS ALTERNATIVES SUCH AS PART REFUND FOR SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
IT IS MEANT TO BE A KIDS THEME PARK YET THERE IS A LACK OF VIBES, ENTERTAINMENT AND THINGS TO DO! THE PLACE LACKS SIMPLE ENTERTAINMENT SUCH AS GAMES TO WIN TEDDYS ETC LIKE THEY HAVE IN THE OTHER THEME PARKS! INSTEAD THEY HAVE LASER TYPE GUN AND WATER THAT YOU ACHIEVE NOTHING WITH!
THE MAP AROUND THE THEME PARK IS CONFUSING, NOT SHOWING CURRENT LOCATION!

WE WERE TOLD ON THE RECEPTION DESK IT WAS A NEW BUILD CABIN ONLY FOR ANOTHER STAFF MEMBER TO CONFIRM IT WAS A 13 YEARS OLD CABIN!
