H Diner & Takeaway — Restaurant in Bury

Visited this diner on 27th Jan 2023 art approximately 1130am. As soon as I opened the door the whole place was filled with smoke from the cooking. I was greeted by a lady with dark hair and asked me to take a seat and she would be over.i sat myself closest to a window as I felt uncomfortable with the smoke. I opened the window to let some ventilation in, then the lady came over and closed it as she said the window wasn't safe and she would put the fan on as I complained. After my order which came out pretty fast and hot, i got to say it was very nice. Throughout the meal the fan was on briefly but not enough to clear the smoke. Me, my wife and son felt uncomfortable all the way through and after as all our clothes stunk off the smoke as we went out shopping in Bury after and all day visiting our family after aswell. I couldn't wait to get home and shower. Felt dirty all day. The cutlery have seen better days and they could be replaced,cups were all stained, teapots all stained. The food and staff are great and it would be a shame if the stuff mentioned aren't rectified. I will revisit this place and see if the improvements have been made. I've been going to H's fairly regularly 2/3 times a month for a good while and I can honestly say they've never let me down even once.

The food is always amazing, the portion sizes are generous, far more so than any other place I've been to in a long, long time, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the previously mentioned portion sizes. The menu always has a lot of choice and variety.

I usually order to take out, but during the few instances that I have eaten in, the restaurant has always been clean and comfortable with a nice atmosphere, and the service time (whether eating in or taking out) is always fast, even when they're clearly busy.

The staff are always very pleasant and helpful, in particular the young lady with the red coloured dyed hair who I've spoken to most times I've been in, is a credit to the business, as she's always been very approachable, friendly, attentive and always goes above and beyond to ensure any customers needs are met.

Me and my mate called last Sunday 10am for breakfast, having checked the menu out couldn’t wait. What a surprise and how disappointed was we, very friendly staff and looked cleanish, we ardered 2 full English and it comes with black pudding, sausage looked and tasted like budget quality and black pudding was raw.
