Bury Market stands as a vibrant testament to what traditional markets can and should be. My recent visit there was nothing short of exceptional, embodying the bustling, community-driven spirit that markets were originally built upon. The traders at Bury Market set a high standard for customer service, often going out of their way to guide visitors to other stalls if they didn't stock what was needed. This level of helpfulness and camaraderie among traders not only enhances the shopping experience but also fosters a sense of community and mutual support that is rare in today's retail landscape. The market itself was a hive of activity, filled with busy aisles and stalls brimming with goods. The variety of items on offer was impressive, ranging from fresh produce to artisanal crafts, clothing, and everything in between. What struck me most was the balance between quality and value; it's a place where you can find exceptional deals without compromising on the quality of goods. This speaks volumes about the dedication of the traders to providing the best for their customers. A visit to Allison's cafe within the market was the cherry on top of a delightful day. The homemade meat pie, accompanied by chips, peas, gravy, bread, and butter, followed by a warm cup of coffee, was the epitome of comfort food. It was clear that the food was prepared with care, using quality ingredients that reflected the overall standard of the market. The sausages and fresh mackerel I purchased were a testament to the market's offering of fresh and flavorful goods. The sausages were delicious, and the mackerels were indeed massive, showcasing the best of what local produce has to be. However, the vibrancy and success of Bury Market also brought a tinge of sadness, highlighting the decline of local markets that once thrived in similar ways. It served as a poignant reminder of the importance of supporting such community hubs, which offer more than just shopping but a sense of belonging and togetherness. Bury Market is an exemplar for markets everywhere, demonstrating that with the right mix of trader collaboration, quality goods, and a welcoming atmosphere, markets can still be at the heart of the community. It's a model that other markets could look to for inspiration, aiming to replicate its success and vitality. The experience at Bury Market was not just a shopping trip; it was a journey through the best of what traditional markets have to offer, leaving me with cherished memories and a longing for the revival of markets elsewhere.

Bury market is just beautiful... The Market street is very crowded but it's just awesome to walk through and buy things, you can find everything there and the prices are really good. Loved the little gardening shop, so beautiful plants and flowers. There is some nice little stands to buy food as well, just to find a free bench might be difficult, the restaurants have some spots though so half so wild... I think it was voted with right the best Great British market :)

Fantastic large market and all round shopping in general. For us the best and only one left locally .you would not find better .and for those with walking difficulties and bound to wheelchairs or scooters ,it's all on flat no hills or any inclines and 90% under cover .also there's a fantastic indoor market. You can walk around the arcade for all your major shops plus there's restaurants and cinema and plenty of reasonable price parking .just great full of bargains.

Incredible Market. One of the best if not the best in the UK. On a par with a great continental market in size and scope. Very close to the Bus and Tram Interchange and easy to access. The fish and butchers were incredible, and it was a great place to have breakfast and find the famous Bury Black Pudding. Fishmongers and butchers were great value and their ranges were incredible. The Samosas from The Barbecue Barn were incredible too. Wow, they were tasty!!

Great place!!No wonder why wouldn't be the Britain's best markets!!I love the meat hall and the fresh meat at cheaper deals. Its a proper place to go if you are looking for some quality fresh meat and seafood. There are all soughts of shops here. N the famous Black Pudding is a must try when you visit Bury Market. You could do a whole day of shopping and would still have shops to checkout..That big is this market..Could be a proper day outing for shopping.
