Open huge expanse of heathland nearby to Calderdale Royal Hospital. There is a cafe along a central road which runs through, plenty of parking space. If you visit Mcdonalds about ¾mile (other side of hospital) away for breakfast and go upto this park before sunrise you can catch some glorious sunrises like we have. There's also the chance to walk your food off either on the vast heathland or inside the adjacent Manor Heath Park too, which is enclosed within its own grounds walls and also has a cafe toilets and play areas. We've visited here from Huddersfield for years with our children + dog mainly at Manor Heath, but kids have played on the heathland too but now they've grown up its just us enjoying the heathland. It is between bus routes but is within walking distance of one. There is plenty of free parking around. There are toilets like I said nearby inside Manor Heath Park not sure if they are disabled friendly or not (but Mcdonalds down the road has one if not). Halifax also hold the agricultural show here in June time-ish. It is a unique setting and well worth a ½day or even a day visit if you visit Manor Heath and there's Wainhouse Tower within walking distance (½mile) too which is open to the public and you can scale its 400+ steps for panoramic views of the...
Read moreLarge expanse of open grassland edged with trees and a small road running through. Ideal for strolling, picnics, dogwalking, etc... It's just 10 minute walk from main bus route from Huddersfield-Halifax which stops at Calderdale Royal Hospital just down the road. We went here after getting fish n chips at Mother Hubbards nearby. Ate them and had a nice walk to stretch afterwards. We usually come here with a coffee from McDs first thing in a morning after dropping our son off at work at CRH nearby and watch the amazing sunrises. It has occasional benches and bins and a footpath across too. It hasn't a toilet but there is a small takeaway open at a gatehouse in the centre. It's nearby to Kings Cross village and Wainhouse Tower too. But Manor Heath Park a walled garden is adjacent which has a cafe, toilets cannot recall if disabled or not and a children's play area so if you do need a loo you're not far away. All in all a fab unusual...
Read moreI rented near Savile Park with my family, and we had a wonderful time by visiting now and then. The park offers a great experience for people of all ages and is a perfect destination for a fun-filled day out. The park is filled with vast expanse of greenery and open spaces. It provided ample room for my kid to run around and play freely. The well-maintained lawns and beautiful flower beds added to the park's charm and created a pleasant atmosphere. For my baby, the highlight of Savile Park was the playground. My kid couldn't contain his excitement and spent hours enjoying himself. The playground was safe and clean, which gave me peace of mind as a parent. I highly recommend visiting Savile Park for a memorable and enjoyable experience with...
