Lilford Gallery — Attraction in Canterbury

On this way, I would like to say thank you very much for your excellent service again. For all readers of this review I would like to explain the background.

I spent two wonderful weeks in Canterbury and surroundings. I discovered the Lilford Gallery in Canterbury. This excellent and unique gallery displays a variety of select art of contemporary art.

I was immediately fascinated by the art of artist Jonathan Stewardson. I saw all his beautiful paintings on his homepage and I decided to buy the painting 'OPPOSITE THE BRITISH MUSEUM'.

I contacted the director of the Gallery David Lilford and a few days later, the beautiful painting arrived safely Germany. Next year I'm going to go to Canterbury and certainly I visit the gallery again. Please visit the Lilford Gallery too!

Lilford gallery is one of those bright little gems that make Canterbury so special. Their offer is a wonderful mix, from well curated exhibitions of works by top-tier artists (e.g. a superb recent one of engravings by David Hockney) through a taseful selection of beautiful works by local artists to works that are just thought provoking or unusual. There something for everyone, really, including much graphic art and sculpture that children will find interesting. Oh, and well-behaved dogs are very much allowed. What more...

A visit to this gallery was a wonderful experience - staff who are welcoming and clearly delighted to share their knowledge and passion about the artworks they display without being in any way pressurising. They clearly want visitors to have an enjoyable experience. There are many beautiful works of art (but it is also absolutely fine to say you don't like something!).
