Parking nearby access to the river is via a pedestrian railway crossing on the weekends there is an ice cream van and also a nearby pub. If you turn right Marlow is a one hour walk on the river path with no refreshments on the way. Turning left will get you to Bourne end railway station in about twenty minutes. At Bourne end you can cross the foot bridge next to the railway and have lunch at the Riverside pub "The Bounty" or continue for another half hour to cookham where there are...

The improvements and maintenance is noticed and appreciated. Multiple paths and lovely views make this a wonderful spot to discover and hike. I recommend continuing along to Winter Hill past spade Oak reach for another view and if you have a few hrs the circular walk through the woods to Marlow and either catch the train to Bourne End or walk along the river...

It is peaceful here. A fantastic place to walk your dog by the riverside. Winter Hill on the opposite side. There is a nice pub there, The Bounty. Only reachable by walking or boat! It's board outside says ' walkers, muddy boots & dogs welcome'. Though it is always kept clean, & does good food too. A must for walkers & lovers of the countryside/riverside.

A beautiful area, anytime of year, at anytime of the day - It is the area that inspired Kenneth Grahame to pen 'Wind in the Willows' & many famous paintings by Stanley Spencer were painted here. Park at the National Trust carpark on Cookham Moor, take a stroll towards the river, then turn left & enjoy exploring!!!!!
