We came to the Crawley branch as this was a gift voucher from family. As it was a gift 4 you voucher the only option was a Sunday at 7.20am. This was very early for a sunday morning lol. We could of paid ÂŁ10 extra each to go later. On arrival we were given overalls , gloves and a helmet. You need a balaclava under your helmet for hygiene reasons which you can bring or you can buy a disposable one from them for 50p or a better one for ÂŁ3. Your then taken for a briefing. 8am the race starts for 50 laps. The only issue with the early start is the engines are cold so cut out alot. There were 14 people in our race and unfortunately I was the only girl which was a bit intimidating. Once on the track everyone was in it to race which was great but I felt I was just in the way so moved to the left everytime they lapped me. I had a great experience but I would recommend you book with alot of people in your party that you know and it would be a better experience. My husband did get big bruises on his back and side from the chair and he had a jumper under his overalls ( which i wouldnt recommend as he got too hot). I found the steering quite stiff but that's probably because I am a wimp ha ha . The great thing is you receive a trophy at the end if your 1st, 2nd or 3rd and you get to stand on the podiums. It's not a cheap plastic one either lol. Would definitely return but with people I know . Spent about 45 minutes on the track.

This is a great place to come for an exciting race around the tracks in modern fast gokarts. There are Two tracks, each with a ramp up and down and lots of right corners to slide around. There is a height requirement for the younger kids as they need to be able to reach the pedals but from about 9-10 up you should be ok. Once you've signed the disclaimers and put on your overalls Theresa a 5 minute video to watch and they tell you about the rules. This was a bit rushed and I don't feel they adequately explained that after the first bend there is a ramp which you need to approach as fast as you can so that you don't get stuck on it. Both times I've been multiple people have got stuck hallway up the ramp. You get 2 sets of 15 minutes on the track and inexperienced drivers will have lots of problems during the first set resulting in lots of red lights requiring everyone to stop. The first time I went we only managed 4 laps a piece as we had to stop so often. With more experienced drivers this shouldn't be a problem. The are multiple sizes of helmets and overalls and two or three different sizes of gloves. You can buy the reusable balaclava for about ÂŁ4 or a disposable one for 50p but I used the disposable one both times and will probably use it next time too. There's a basic snack bar for drinks and crisps/chocolate and they can microwave a sausage roll or too but let's face it, you're not there for the food.

This was our first visit to this track and was very disappointed. I took my two sons who have raced at the Mitcham track over 10 times so are pretty good drivers. The road that leads to the premises is pretty poor so you don't want to go with a washed car. They had no small gloves for the kids so my younger son who is aged 9 had to wear adult gloves which looked silly on his little hands. It is hard to view the race as the viewing area is on one level so you are not able to see the action that is really tajing place on the top level. My 11 year old son was given the wrong kart and he ended up rolling backwards when he was going up the incline so the staff needed to push him up. He was very upset about this and ruined his race completely. After explaining what happened to the staff, they said they could not change his kart and he should take the corner differently and keep as much power on the peddle when going up which I thought was bizarre as we raced at other tracks and never had this problem before. At the end of our session, both my sons said they didn't like it at all and want to stick to the Mitcham race track as this one was not a good experience. Shame, but Mitcham....here we come! Hope this review helps both the business and the customer.

My partner and I booked a session here on Sunday 10th March 2024 which was supposed to be two fifteen minute session in the new electric karts that were introduced here a few months ago. On arrival we were issued out kit and proceeded to the briefing room for the mandatory safety briefing. This was informative as it explained a bit about how the electric carts work. Shortly afterwards we were called to the track to start our first session. This is where the evening started to go downhill rapidly. I was the penultimate kart to be released from the pit lane and by the time I was released onto the track the first drivers were already completing their first lap and started to have their first pile up, the session was already under waved yellows on me joining the track. For the next 13 minutes we went from waved yellows, to red, to green, back to waved yellows and red. For the thirteen minutes I was on the track I didn’t manage a full lap under race, as some of the drivers in the session wouldn’t be able to drive my father’s mobility scooter never mind an electric kart. When we got back to the pits our group were furious that we hadn’t been able to complete a full lap under race conditions and I asked one of the schoolkid marshals when does the 15 minute session start and he said when the first kart leaves the pits. A short while later we were called back onto the track and the session started again. I had my telemetry app that I used on my full size race car running and I was sat in the pit lane for 1 minute 57 seconds after the first kart was released and the last kart was released a 11 seconds later meaning that I we were only going to get 13 minutes (or less) track time. Sure enough 5 meters into the session the wave yellows come out and we are crawling. Everyone starts over taking on the waved yellows so I did the same, only to be called into the pit lane and was told by the 12 year old marshal not to overtake under waved yellows. When I said everyone else was doing this he said they would be called in as well (they weren’t). We get going again and one of the “cadets” decides that they want to employ stock car racing tactics by turning in on me as I over take and trying to bump me as we are going into corners, incredibly I then get pulled into the pits (again) and told not to use the bumper. At this point my kart starts behaving erratically and I am not getting full power down the straits so it looks like the race controller has put me in reduced power mode to slow my kart down. My thirteen minute sessions ends and sure enough once again we haven’t completed a full lap under race conditions. I have my bodycam footage where the Marshal confirms that the clock starts when the first kart leaves the pits and confirms on camera that if you last out of the pits then you won’t get the full fifteen minutes which I will shortly be forwarding to trading standards as its ridiculous to charge for fifteen minutes when you are only going to get 12 minutes and ten seconds track time. I have given this place one star but I would give zero if I could.

The Pros: The electric karts are fun to drive and are unpredictable which makes racing more challenging The place looks smart and is very corporate

The Cons The standard of the marshalling is terrible. Most of them are 12 year old kids who aren’t even old enough to drive Overzealous use of the yellow and red flag The boost button is hard to reach even with my huge hands Fifteen minute sessions are not fifteen minutes (unless you are the first kart out) The “hand of god” that randomly reduces the power of the kart if you are...

Honestly don’t even know where to start, won’t be coming back which is a shame as track was really good, but one members of staff ruined the experience straight from the beginning. We were told to quiet down before we had even entered the building, we were having a small laugh and chat as we were getting out the car and we’re not loud at all? so didn’t start off very well. we headed into the building to sign in and the same woman said to us ‘we called you multiple times why don’t you answer the phone’. No voicemail was left and we can’t answer our phones at work so it’s not possible, next time leave a voicemail. she wanted my boyfriend to pay extra to become a member so they could have gone on the slightly earlier race for the members. she told us someone wasn’t very happy that we didn’t answer our phones and pay the extra just so they could go home a bit earlier.. we had booked the later session as that was what was convenient for us, if your staff are so lazy they can’t stay their whole shift don’t have a late booking available.

She was super rude about it, she kept laughing as if she was joking but she kept on to my boyfriend about upgrading even though we had said no multiple times before as we don’t come enough to make a membership worth it. she kept on about not answering our phones how the other staff weren’t happy as they would now have to stay for the rest of their shift??! we laughed it off as was quite awkward and wasn’t sure what to say at the time and she made us very uncomfortable. this isn’t acceptable at all, super rude woman. to make it even worse, they complained about having a late session yet they started the session 30 minutes late anyways and there were multiple other people karting at the same time so what is the issue.

she shouldn’t be working here and neither should any staff who complain about staying for their full shift.

will not be coming back, she ruined the night for us. we couldn’t enjoy ourselves as just felt we were in the way and annoying the staff.

don’t recommend...

First race was very fun, second race not so much there were 3 small children crashing and holding up faster drivers, I got black flagged and told to be careful of contact and younger drivers, I said "what am I supposed to do if the kid is next to me then crashes into me and spins out?" Then 4 times after I was rammed quite hard by other karters so this left a sour taste in my mouth and I actually wanted to cut my track time short and leave the venue, I feel the red and yellow lights need to be more vivid like actual traffic lights, I have a mild red green colour defect (colour blind) and the only like that was obvious was the green as the led system in use makes the red and yellow very similar (compare this to an actual traffic light which I can see very clearly). Then we were excited for food but when it came it was disgusting and disappointing especially for the premium price you pay, the chips tasted like they where oven cooked and left out on the side to cool,by the time they were on our table they where cold, the brioche burger buns were stale/rock solid I took my burger to the counter and asked for a refund, when asked what was wrong with it I explained then tapped the burger on the bar top which sounded like a brick, I was refunded for just the burger sadly nothing else the manager told me they were new buns and I said maybe 2 weeks old , the staff generally were lovely although I can see why the food is so disgusting even the staff won't eat it as I saw the manager walk through the bar into what I presumed is the kitchen with two massive bags of mcdonalds they were all happily walking around with their mcdonald drinks which is unprofessional and highlighted how bad food is. So in a nut shell no I won't recommend crawley...
