Considering the unassuming front of the house you could be forgiven for expecting a lawn and a shed populating the back garden but nothing could be further from the truth. Speaking from the perspective of a rare/tropical plant nurseryman this garden is an absolute paradise! The care and time that has gone into the place, from collecting the rare plants to designing the borders, is palpable as you shuffle around. I say shuffle because you have to to get a proper look at everything. When we visited we did at least four laps of the garden and sat in the shady seating areas for a long time but I'm sure we still missed things. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and some interesting plants (as you might expect) are for sale. Their dedication to the garden and the charities they support through opening not only the garden but providing facilities when you've had your 3rd cuppa. The cakes that support The salvation army are delicious. Cannot say enough about the garden and you'll be amazed at the tropical and native plants. The size of the blooms is to be marvelled at.
