After having a really good meal previously we thought we would try a Sunday lunch...we booked a table for 12.30 p.m and we were so looking forward to it. When we arrived we found that the table we had booked was taken. We spoke to the assistant who said they were sorry and asked if we would like another table in the bar area or through into the dining room. We said we would take a table in the bar and subsequently ordered the roast beef. When the plate arrived it had three blood red beef on it and the vegetables were cold, the broccoli was yellow so it was completely out of date. When I took a mouthful of the beef it was terrible....it was tough and bloody. We called the waitress over and explained that no way could we eat this....she apologised and said she would bring a fresh plate with a well done piece of beef and hot vegetables. She returned about 10 minutes later with three thick pieces of beef and again vegetables with the broccoli which was inedible......anyway after trying to cut the beef I couldn't cut through it and asked for a serrated knife.....she brought us two knives but again having cut through it and tried to eat it...it was so tough and chewy just like boot leather...we both said we couldn't eat this as it was so disgusting.....we were not charged for the dinners just the beer. It was so disappointing after having such a good meal in the middle of the week...I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HAVING A SUNDAY LUNCH AT THIS PUB.....WE...

Four of us came for a meal to this pub tonight, we were thoroughly disappointed, we arrived at 4 o’clock to be told we could have a table however we would need to leave by 6pm as there was a reservation we were absolutely fine with this and had no trouble.

We went to sit down and at around 4:15pm we went to the bar and ordered two burgers a gammon and a lasagne. This was all fine however the young man behind the counter didn’t seem to know what he was doing. At around 5:10pm our food had still not arrived, the manager and many other members of staff had seen our table empty and no one had said anything.

One of our table members went to the bar to ask how long roughly our food would be as we only had 50mins before the reservation would have been due. It was then realised by a member of staff that there had been a connection error and our food orders had not gone to the kitchen. The member of staff said that they would start it right away.

Our food came around 5:30pm and it had clearly been rushed, the lasagne was cold in the middle and the cheese had not been cooked properly. One of the burgers had pulled pork on which was dry and not very nice.

Alongside this the lady at the bar had clearly had a tough day however the way she was speaking and looking at her customers was disgusting and was not very professional at all.

Overall poor experience and all four members of the group agreed we will not be returning to this...

Was in Louth to visit family and friends, called in today, for the second time in three days, it was very busy and it was clear there would be a wait for the food however; a woman on a table nearby was complaining about the wait very loudly and vocally, then her son joined in and began repeating every complaint his mother made. The woman and her son made the atmosphere in the garden so bad it was unbelievable and when the owner came out to speak to her about it she got even worse. Her son was unbelievably rude to staff and the mother was even worse. I note she has left a review which gives a very warped version of what actually happened. If I had a child with autism then I would have been trying to keep the stimulus very quiet and low but no she just kept winding her son up till all hell broke loose and they had to be asked to leave. Our meal and the service was amazing, the staff could not have handled the situation any better, will most definitely be returning when we visit family again. 10 out of...

Called in today, 26th October, with our two dogs. We had been in one Sunday and liked this pub. Back in Louth, looking for table in antique centre. Only wanted a snack as dinner waiting at home. We decided on a steak, onion and mushroom baguette with chips and salad. We asked for baguette to be cut in two as we were going to share. It came out, beautifully presented, on two separate plates with very generous portions. Absolutely delicious. Wood burner alight, very cosy with a nice ambience. A shame this pub is not nearer to us in Lincoln.

Had a really lovely meal at ye olde whyte swanne in Louth, the husband had the ploughman's, it was immense, when the guy behind bar said it was big I was not expecting it to be that big, I had the dirty burger, could only eat half of it, again big, ordered extra onion rings, good idea at the time, couldn't eat them, left the chips, but ate the salad(trying to be good) failing miserably, well worth the money at £16.95 each, would most definitely recommend, if your in the vicinity, get yourselves in there

A lovely little pub with an impressive garden! The food was delicious (Cheese Ploughmans), the service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Louth. Coronavirus guidance: I was asked to sanitise my hands upon entering, the majority of staff were wearing a face covering & there is a one in - one out policy when using the toilets.
