Felixstowe Pier is a fond childhood memory. I was back there last week and its feels like it hasn't changed much, but of course it has. The pier used to be fully walkable. Now it is barricaded just behind the amusement arcades. The original structure (built 1905, the same year as the Felix Hotel (now Harvest House)) was much longer than it is currently but has been shortened over the years. It used to be a good walk, not sure if it is ever planned to be reopened and seems to be a semi-derelict landing strip for seagulls. The amusement arcade had a major refurbishment around 2017, the outside looks really good and there's some good ice-cream and fish and chips available. The arcade inside is clean, got some decent amusements and plenty of 2p penny-drop machines if you're the gambling type. Even on the weekend there were a few parking spots available right outside the pier. Parking was only £1.50 for a couple of hours (and then free from 6pm) with the machines only taking cash. Good couple of hours spent reliving my youth.

A simple pier, but a pier that is a boardwalk and has a nice ambience. Good coffee, friendly staff and the typical array of amusements and activities that an British pier has to offer. Or just sit and ponder the quiet different shorelines from North to South. Edwardian seaside town of Felixstowe, Suffolk, England. The pier opened in August 1905 with a total length of 2,640 feet and was once one of the longest in the country. Steamer services operated from the pier to various destinations. Not be confused with an older wooden pier also called Felixstowe pier but located near Landguard Common next to the old Felixstowe port. It was the original terminus of the Felixstowe branch line and gave rise to the name of the Felixstowe Pier railway station, the site of which is now within the modern Felixstowe container port reclaimed land. The Harwich - Felixstowe ferry also used this pier originally. It also is the start and end point of the Felixstowe Park Run, and if you can nail that in under 20:30 you’ll be doing ok. 🏆🍻🏝️😎

If we talk about the new 2019 pier not Good, the noise is way to loud yes you have to have noise but when talking to someone it's like being at a rock concert. As well the staff are mostly young lads and every time I go you just see these 5 lads all standing together talking, which is not in the job description. I hardly see them refilling machine's. All prizes are mostly very childish nothing for older generations (E.g 15 years on. Unless you have about 10, 000 tickets which will only get you a small prize) The old pier, before it was knocked down and replaced was on a different level by a million, it was so good with welcoming staff. But the out side of of the new one is a lot more modern.

A lovely family arcade with a good spread of games and machines the prices are reasonable and my 7 year old had a wonderful time and walked away with some amazing prizes including a baby yoda. I would be giving it 5 stars but unfortunately they have several prizes on display in the ticket area that you cannot have... When I asked the staff for a few of them they I was told out of stock and I couldn't have the ones in the display cabinet... If you are local or passing through Felixstowe definitely check out this arcade but be cautious with young children as they might not understand why they can't have a prize that's on display even if they have the tickets.

Sensory overload, but the kids love it. There are a variety of arcade games with the classic 2p machines, basketball hoops and bowling. Most games are a £1 each to play with the VR ones costing £3 per person to play. The kids favourite games are the life-size hungry hippos and Mario kart DX. There is a cash machine inside the arcade if needed. There is a fish and chip shop next to the arcade, wait times in the summer can be long due to the crowds but its so worth it. There is also a cafe on the pier if you fancy somewhere warm to sit and eat. Great little spot for the family, friends or a date if you're into games.

The pier is mostly an amusement arcade, you can step out the back to look at the pier, but you can't walk out along it. The amusement arcade itself was OK, we didn't have much luck and we spent ages queuing in the prize shop queue to get some sweets with the kids tickets! We couldnt find any toilets on the pier, although there are some public loos a bit further down promenade. I think to be honest, the best bit was the look of the frontage of the pier, looks impressive - just a shame it doesn't match this when you go on! (I guess we have just been spoilt a fair bit with our experiences at other piers!!)
