Staff are amazing. The owner is the issue. When ordering langoustines from the specials board, you expect to actually get some langostine meat, we barely had enough to cover the palm of our hand! When mentioning this to the waitresses, she asked the owner to chat to us. He was very aggressive and defensive, quoting his heating and electric bills. Not once listening to our complaint. He also said nobody else had complained, but I overheard someone the same evening who had had the exact same dish complaining! When spending £19 on a dish that basically turned out to be risotto with not much else, perhaps he should realise everyone has bills to pay, but when dining out you expect a little bit more for your buck when you are treating yourself! Again, the staff are really good, and I hope he treats them better than his customers
I would like to thank the owner for not actually reading this review, judging by his response, because at no point did I say the food was nice, just the staff. Also portion control is nothing to with HMRC, better value Italian meals can be...
Read moreVery disappointed. Dark and squashed in seating area inside and outside there was only one heater that and that lasted 30 secs before you had to keep getting up to switch back on.
Toilets weird and not very nice...one loo 2 large basins!
Food very average. Definitely not true Italian cooking. Not sure they have heard of olive oil. Dry tasteless Octopus salad, very dry brushetta (no oil on bread or toms) literally a slice of toasted bread with a chopped tomato. Rocket and parmesan salad with no parmesan! Pasta was ok but sauce very salty. No offer of black pepper or parmesan as per every ther Italian restaurant. Not overly expensive, but certainly not cheap. Not value for money imo. Such a shame that Felixstowe is such a culinary desert as it has so much potential for good food places. Been putting off trying AC for years because of its school refectory style bright lit interior so thought I would try it given its new makeover. Definitely...
Read moreWhere do I start! My wife and I visited this restaurant as we wanted to have a sit down meal rather than a takeaway and it was one of the few restaurants that was open as it was December. What immediately struck us is how helpful and considerate the staff were. They went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. As for the food , well it was outstanding both in terms of quality and flavour. My Lasagne was delicious and my "mousse cake" made with 3 different chocolate flavours was just sublime. Huge portion size as well. Chocolate heaven! My wife had an equally delicious pizza and dessert. Moretti Beer and Rose Wine. The whole experience from start to finish was a delight. If you're not sure whether or not to eat here, do yourself a favour and just do it. You won't be disappointed. In fact you'll be delighted. Great restaurant with staff that really look after their customers and excellent chefs....
