Kensington Gardens is a little known jewel in the Kirkley area. While there isn't a children's playground in the gardens, parents with small children will love the sunken garden area that has a fairy tree, a pond with bridge and a children's story time corner. The gardens also has a great tea room, bowling greens and tennis courts within its well kept grounds. Along with the council gardeners the voluntary group The Friends Of Kensinton Gardens keep the gardens well stocked with a stunning array of flowers shrubs and tree. Squirrels, Ducks, wagtails, Robin's, carp fish and but some of the natural species of wildlife to be found within. Sadly though as ever much more could be done by our council of no vision to enhance this beautiful little gem of a place. Years ago Kensington gardens was well know for the Bumper boats on its round boating pond...Now days the boating pond is either empty, or occasionally used by model boaters. Personally I'd love to see more community entertainment in the garden as it's a prime spot for...

Seems to get more and more sparse every year. It was like a mini jungle when I used to play in there. There was an aviary at the North end and deep walkways that felt like valleys near the pond and the boating pond had loads of canal features to paddle the canoes round. All gone. Not as exciting as it was when I was a kid. But that was nearly 40 years ago. Excellent tennis courts and bowling greens and I guess it is more tidy and well maintained these days. I have fond memories of the place as a child. Always nice to have these places to escape to and poor old lowestoft certainly needs places to escape...

Always a nice place to visit. As the season continues into summer it will look even nicer. There is a lawn bowls club here, a nice little nature walk through a Japanese inspired waterway (very small).

There is a focus on community here, with locals making this their own gardens. There is a lovely fairy tree for the kids, that gets added to regularly, a small book swap area and during the year hidden painted stones will appear for finding.

There are nice walks through the gardens and a large boating lake, a cafe is also available when it...

Kensington Gardens is a wonderful place to walk through, take in the beauty and tranquility of a park maintained by the love and hard work of volunteers. Whenever I am in Lowestoft I never miss an opportunity to visit the fairy tree and the duck pond. This visit had the added delight of the park been part of the First Light Festival!

A beautiful little gem to come across, wonderful little pond area with little Moorehens and also four little babies - good lord they were cute. Lots of ducks and seagulls. The cafe here too was wonderful, fantastic staff, very friendly and hard-working. Food was fantastic, good basic food done very very well. Amazing! I will be back.

It’s not as nice as it used to be but nice to have a walk around not much open even though it was a public holiday. Not sure why turf was just thrown down on the path looked awful and shows that whoever did it doesn’t know what they are doing. The council need to sort things like this out as just are just wasting our money.
