Kensington Gardens is a little known jewel in the Kirkley area. While there isn't a children's playground in the gardens, parents with small children will love the sunken garden area that has a fairy tree, a pond with bridge and a children's story time corner. The gardens also has a great tea room, bowling greens and tennis courts within its well kept grounds. Along with the council gardeners the voluntary group The Friends Of Kensinton Gardens keep the gardens well stocked with a stunning array of flowers shrubs and tree. Squirrels, Ducks, wagtails, Robin's, carp fish and but some of the natural species of wildlife to be found within. I have fond memories of the place as a child. Always nice to have these places to escape to and poor old lowestoft certainly needs places to escape...

There is a focus on community here, with locals making this their own gardens. There is a lovely fairy tree for the kids, that gets added to regularly, a small book swap area and during the year hidden painted stones will appear for finding.
There are nice walks through the gardens and a large boating lake, a cafe is also available when it...
